I did a second Piñata! Someone I know offered me $20 to make another one after I showed him the original, so here it is. I designed a buisness card so I could hand them out of it comes up.

Hello all! I mentioned on fabricious velociraptor thread, that I have been planning a life size Protoceratops. So far I have all the measurements cut out in 2D, now I need to figure out the frill shape, and then I can assemble and bulk him up! As requested, here are some pics. I made 2 heads, and used a skeletal for reference, this is Andrewsi.

It's nice to see people working in my favorite scale: 1:1. Looking good so far. What material are you using?

So far just foam board from the dollar store. And some paper towel rolls. I want to bulk it up with foam and paper, then masking tape and paper mâché. After that I'll need to cover it in a material I can sculpt scales onto, or maybe glue something on to look like scales. I want it to have fiberglass and resin for strength and water tightness. A few steps but it will be very rewarding  :). This won't be my first fiber glass Dino.

I have thought of using fiberglass for larger projects- how well can it hold detail? BTW, I thought you were making a life-size iguanodon by the title of this thread.

Hello, I've painted up some more of my egg nest casts, including the addition of a new nest. Which color is your favorite? Please feel free to post pictures of dinosaur nests that I could sculpt next. I'm not an eggxpert. Thanks!

I really like how these turned out. They may not be dinosaurs but this is a very good niche to have, when it comes to diorama accents.

fabricious

They really DO look great! Awesome idea and nicely done, thumbs up for that!

The big ones are my favorite ones

Improving your casting skills?

I've made the head 3D. I just need to do some adjusting to get all the curves right, as well as make it  more symmetrical.

The nests look great!  Same for the Proto head..looks like you've nailed the basic shape.  Most of my annoyances came from the area where the lower jaw meets the top of the skull..about where your hand is..lol  Though to be fair breaking the 3D elements down in my head on these guys is always a bit rough.

Hello! I thought it was about time to make a proper sauropod nest. The nest is 1:40 scale for a large Sauropod. On one side there are claw marks where the dirt/sand was dug out, and on the other side a pile forms. Sense the nest goes below ground level, many of the eggs are only half an egg or less with more eggs on top. At this point, all/most of the eggs have been laid and the nest may get buried, which you could partially do if you were making a diorama or kids could bury it while playing.

I'll be making a mold soon, so if there is anything you think I should change, let me know ;)

Its overall look is good
But the seams on the eggs are a bit of setting for me
