Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Ah, Dinofroz...a whole toyline suited for the Ugly Ugly Dinosaurs thread. I once brought a pack out of curiosity ( it was marked off ) and got "Gigantirex". Indeed I posted it there. The kids that turn into Dinofroz in the series are fittingly also pretty ugly. ( That Smilodon kid is especially ugly...)

Anyways, to quote myself:

Let's return to the proper uglies!

I guess some people would consider the green one ugly-cute...not me!

The red one is a Dinofroz, got him really cheap and out of curiosity. He seems to be one of the better looking ones, not that this means much:

My thoughts:

"Dinosaurs"
Gigantirex - is actually not that giant...
Gigaraptor - not worth 1000 Megaraptors
Petatriceratops - pet a Triceratops, not this thing!
Stradimetrodon - looks like some mutant flying lizard
Esagigantosaurus - is probabaly meant to be some really ugly Gigantoraptor
Kerajeholopterus - didn't David Peters reconstruct it like that? The Glow in the Dark Version even looks like it could be a Vampire...
Terastegosaurus - no witty comment about this one.

"Prehistoric Animals"
Megasmilodon - Dental Plan!
Protohkeratops - not only the name of Protoceratops is messe up here! Also a traitor.
Kerammuth - need some ivory?
Deinocherasukus - and you thought Schleich's Deinosuchus was bad...
Temptelephas - straight out of Resident Evil!
Petacharonosaurus - Quackpot's ugly cousin!
Megaglyptodon - this one takes the crown of uglyness!
Dikerodon - so the Animals get a new figure...

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Roselaar

Well... at least they have a character all their own. Thankfully. :)

Libraraptor

whoa.  These figures are not my  cup of tea...

Archinto

Dinofroz, so thats what these things are. I saw a seller on ebay with a few of them marked as dinosaur dolls. They are certainly unique figures. :) looking forward to your next showing :)
I'm seeking Orsenigo and other interesting vintage dinosaurs. Contact me if you can help with my search!

The Atroxious

See, I kind of like the concept of these things. I don't exactly disagree that they're really ugly, but that's more down to the sculpting, paintwork, and proportions that mark them unequivocally as low quality toys for children. If, however, some toy line aimed at collectors, or at least a line with any sort of regard for collectors at all came out making freaky, spiny, mutant dinosaurs, albeit with better paint, detail, and proportions, I'd probably purchase at least a few.

Deinocherasukus, Stradimetrodon, Petatriceratops, Temptelephas, Megasmilodon and Megaglyptodon (ugh, who came up with these names?) look better than the others, but again, I find the overtly childish designs to be off-putting.

copper

it would be interesting to see how they would look like if they were painted realistically.

CityRaptor

The question is what would count as realistic. Dinosaurs at least could have been rather colorful.

As for more realistic looking versions, something like this?

Like I said, the elephant is straight out of Resident Evil!

Most of the Dinosaurs would essentially be very similar to the Level 40 ones in Jurassic World: The Game.

Have you noted this too!? If you see the dinofroz "Pethatriceratops" And the Jw-The Game Lvl 40 Trike you see that they are very similar:

Anyway, Here's my papo's:

Repainted Tupuxuara:

Repainted Dimetrodon

Killekor,

You've received several warnings over the past few weeks for posting content that is pointless, duplicate, spammy, and/or off-topic. You've continued to do so after receiving moderator requests not to, which also puts you in breach of the rule to respect moderator requests. We've been patient so far, but after giving you a final written warning earlier this week (two, in fact), you proceeded today to post three almost identical posts in three separate threads (all showing the same pink dinosaur image), when one post would've sufficed. On this basis, you are receiving a ban for a culmination of minor infringements of the following rules:

2. No...spam.

4. Respect designated topic areas (categories and threads) and moderator requests.

6. Excessive off-topic or pointless posts are not allowed.

I know you are young and we don't want to lose you because I think you bring a lot of enthusiasm to the forum, so the ban will only be temporary, for 2 weeks. When you return, I hope you will follow the forum rules more stringently. Thanks for your understanding.  C:-)

Killekor

Today, as I wrote in the "recent acquisitions" thread, I've received an order from Everything Dinosaur. And here's what I bought!

Dilophosaurus "Green Day"
Brand: REBOR

I really liked this model from when I saw the photos of the prototypes, and I was convinced to buy it after seeing Jetoar's video review.
I'm really satisfied of it! It's smaller than how I imagined it, but it's really detailed! All it's articulations are really well made, and the overall quality is great.

It's clearly inspired from the Jp creature, although REBOR couldn't add frills to it for copyright reasons. So, the brand made an image with a pair of frills to print and attach to the model. It takes a lot of time to cut the frills from the sheet of paper, but when you attach it to the model it makes it even better than without the frill! For me it is actually the best JP inspired Dilophosaurus on the market!

Pros:
-It's a great quality figure.
-it's articulations and bendable parts make it really suitable for a good diorama.
-It's double scale (1:35 adult, 1:11 "juvenile" (Jurassic park)) makes it great for various types of diorama.
-it has lips, for the joy of some collectors.
-especially with the frill, it's a great figure for the JP lovers.

Cons:
-The legs were a bit warped, but it has been easy to fix them without the use of hot water or other remedies.
-the printable frills, when printed, are a bit difficult to cut precisely.

Overall vote: 9,5/10

Carnegie Tanystropheus
Brand: Safari LTD

I've bought another model after that the older one I had it broken a bit. It's a great figure, surely the best of this genus, and it's also quite cheap.
I've always loved this genus (also because it's an Italian species!).

Pros:
-it's accurate.
-The quality of the figure is great.
-the bendable neck makes it great for dioramas.
-it's also cheap, considering that it's a discontinued good quality figure.

Cons:
-the neck is a bit fragile, so it could broke.

Overall vote: 9/10

Carnegie (feathered) Velociraptor
Brand: Safari LTD

I'm more than joyful to have finally found one to buy!
When I decided to buy the Dilophosaurus from ED I explored a bit the website, and when I saw that they had some Carnegie feathered Velociraptors in stock I literally jumped of joy. I was searching this figure from years, and I didn't miss the opportunity to get one! I'm so happy!
The figure didn't delude me. It's bigger than how I expected it, and it's beautifully detailed!

Pros:
-it's a great quality figures.
-It's really well sculpted.
-it's color scheme is pleasing (at least for me), and i find it exceptional from the aesthetic point of view.

Cons:
-as it has been noted in the blog review, its wings are a bit inaccurate.
-it's out of production, although you can still find it cheaply.

Overall vote: 10/10

So here's the end of the post. I hope you enjoyed it!
Thank you for reading!

Shonisaurus

I congratulate you on your new acquisitions Killekor I also have the Carnegie velociraptor but I warn you of one thing the legs are very fragile, I dropped that figure from one of my shelves (it was 1:90 meters high and the leg was broken I had to buy another one at shop.modellpferdeversand.de I suggest that if you want to exhibit it, have it on a lower shelf if your legs are broken and claws are a bit hard and sincerely their apparent elasticity is very deceiving, as is the case with the protoceratosaurus with a Collecta base or with liliensternus with a base of the same brand, be careful with accidental falls.

Thank you for the answer and for the warning, Shonisaurus!
I'll be surely careful of my velociraptor, also because it's one of my favorite figures of my collection.
Sadly I experienced things like this in the past, like with my BotM Red Velociraptor. In most of the cases the figures broke falling on the floor. I'll be careful on not making that happen again.

Thanks again!

Killekor

Ladies and gentleman, dinosaur toy collectors, Members of the honorable Dinosaur Toy Forum, I have to announce my huge, latest acquisition: the Epic Papo Limited edition Spinosaurus!

It's Epic in the true sense of the word.
I've just received mine from Alcaicería, a Spanish shop located in the center of Granada. I've ordered it the night between two days ago and yesterday, so it was a really fast shipping which I paid just 5€! Both the package and the collector box (arrived through GLS) arrived quite damaged, but the big size of the latter prevented the figure's damage. Anyways, I'm satisfied by the order I made.

What I can say about this Spinosaurus which it hast been said until now? It's a wonderful model, bigger than expected, and as avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus said in its collection thread it isn't a photogenic model at all. When you see it in person you can't see most of the defects that seem to exist in the photos, first of all the awkward appearance of the pose.

I don't know who the sculptor is, but he/she made a master work creating this guy. He/she gave importance to every detail, from the head to the feet. The chest is sculpted and painted in a way that you can almost see it's lungs. Shortly, it's a masterpiece.
And I have to say that the more I see the ell tail the more I consider it superior to all the other tail renditions of Spinosaurus.

As other forum members noted the seams of the tail, limbs and head are visible, but for me only with a close inspection. And the lower quality of the paint job respect to the prototype model doesn't make it a low quality figure. The only thing that disturb me a bit are the teeth, which could be better painted.
About the overall quality, is what I expected from a limited edition Spinosaurus.

Anyways, I'm more than satisfied by this new Spinosaurus from Papo, which for me is the best one available on the moment if not in all branches, at least in the paleoartistic one.

In closing, I want to wish in advance a Merry Christmas, happy new year and vacation to all of you who will not be on the forum during this period and for this reason will not see my greetings on Christmas Day.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day!
