Poll added! So which will it be? The classic crestless duckbill Edmontosaurus? The original hadrosaur and first American dinosaur named, Hadrosaurus? The burly Belgian Iguanodon? The casque-headed "other" Lambeosaurus? The massive, short-legged Nigerien Lurdusaurus? The largest non-sauropod land animal of all time, Shantungosaurus? Or the Transylvanian dwarf duckbill Telmatosaurus?

Thanks for helping me choose! The poll will close in 20 days.

All right, Edmontosaurus and Hadrosaurus are neck-and-neck! Keep those votes coming in!

Come on, you guys aren't really going to make me sculpt a Hadrosaurus, are you? A species with almost no cranial material from a group that are basically all identical except for their crania?   :-\

I voted for Shantungosaurus myself..though Lambeosaurus was a close second.   Maybe add multiple votes in?

Ha, thanks guys! I should have done more research on all the suggestions before putting up the poll; I didn't realize Hadrosaurus was headless.

Blade, that's a good suggestion on multiple choices; I'll go ahead and change that but apparently it's too late to change that.

It is interesting that the saurolophines are the clear favorites so far. I guess lambeosaurines are a bit over-represented, but I'm not sure why the non-hadrosaurids are getting so little love.

I edited it to 3 votes each for you, folks that already voted have to remove their current vote then select three.  Did you want hadrosaurus removed?

I can't think of many good Lambeosaurs out there currently, the best ones I think have been discontinued.

Thanks Blade! I don't know what to do about Hadrosaurus...obviously some people want to see it made, and I can totally understand that, but on the other hand...if I'm making up the head and sticking it on a body that could belong to any hadrosaur, in what sense is it even a Hadrosaurus model? I guess leave it on, and if it's the winner I'll figure out how best to make it.

I looked online and seems those who try to restore it just give it a very basic hadrosaur head..I certainly can't tell it from any other..but it has name recognition I guess.

All right, a three-way tie between the Shandong Colossus, the Nigerien Fireplug, and the Artist Formerly Known as Trachodon! The race is heating up!

Lambeosaurus is in the lead, Shantungosaurus a strong second... Still four days to vote! I'm excited about getting started!

Lambeosaurus is still in the lead, with a four-way tie for second place! Only one day left, so get those votes in!

And Lambeosaurus magnicristatus is the winner! Thanks to everyone who voted! Time for me to do a great deal of research and work on some sketches. I will post progress photos in this thread.

Great to see a Model of his Often overlooked Species of Lambeosaurus.
A true Dinosaur fan loves dinosaurs for what they are, not what he/she wants them to be.

About 30 feet - the same size as most hadrosaurs, really. There's not a complete specimen, so the length of the tail is guesswork based n other lambeosaurines. I calculated the proportions for a 1:20 figure, then added 10% to allow for shrinkage in the casts if I end up molding and casting this guy.
