As title. Have the species which appears in the Wild Safari 2007 model even received a name? The only thing I can find about it is this article.

(picture from toyanimal.info)
"Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago. What is left of them is fossilized in the rocks, and it is in the rock that real scientists make real discoveries. Now what John Hammond and InGen did at Jurassic Park is create genetically engineered theme park monsters, nothing more and nothing less."

Based on previous discussion of it, I remember it hasn't received a name as its skull isn't known.

A nice figure, but one that I don't believe has been much discussed on the forum. I distinctly remember some speculation that it might be a member of the waste basket genus Ornithocheirus. That was years ago and not substantiated as far as I know.

I think I was always under the impression it was based on Anhanguera, but I don't recall if I ever saw that genus specifically cited.

Yes I ask Safari when released and they said Anhanhuera.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres - do you want to weigh in? Last we chatted it was still an undescribed genus. Has something changed?

Whereas this figure was mostly designed after Anhanguera, which after all has a description, it was intended to represent the North African pterosaur that still awaits description in Paul Sereno's lab. I can't disclose too much but I am aware of at least one person who might actually put in the work to formally describe it, but I wouldn't expect it for a couple more years.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres interesting! Well, this means I'll have to update the post in my thread in a couple of years  ^-^
