Hi, I´m Spike and I´m here to find out about new kit releases.

Some of my work can be seen at http://gorgosaurus.deviantart.com/gallery/

Spike.

Hi Spike, and welcome to the forums! I seen your models on Deviantart many times and I love them! I've got quite a collection myself, and I'll have to upload them to Deviantart sometime (although you can see the pictures here if you search my posts).

I've been wondering if your Sean Copper Gorgosaurus juveniles are one of a kind, or is there some way to get copies of them? Thanks!

Jetoar

Amazing models, my favorites are gorgosaurus  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Joel, the feathered Gorgosaurus juvenile four-some are one-of-a-kind sculpts I designed and drew for The Dinosauricon in 2005 and then later commissioned Sean Cooper to sculpt them for me. No kits available.

Bizarrely, Spike has my picture of the exploded GM Chasmosaurus kit up on his DA page.  ???

Spike.

I was surprised when I clicked on your link to your DA  page to see my picture there.  No problem, really just surprise.  I guess when you put pictures out in the public domain, anyone can use them.  I'm sure I have posted many pics in various threads from news sources, etc., without crediting; however, I have never posted anything in my own personal pages without credit to whomever may have taken the original photo.  So, a simple sorry, oops, or do you mind, or my bad, would have been nice; I surely would have said yes.  The same courtesy applies here, and your lack of it makes me wonder what other pictures featured are actually your own.

No offense, but why do you keep writing "Spike" at the ends of your posts?

Simon

Because that is his name.

Welcome to the DTF, Spike.

So? It's pretty redundant. I don't see you writing "Simon" at the end of yours.

Simon

Because that is the way Spike has always signed off on all the forums he is on (like the Clubhouse) for YEARS.

Its his "sig line"

It might be a bit "conventional" but that is what it is.

Anyhow, can we now move back to discussing dinos?   ::)

First, Radman :-

"I'm sure I have posted many pics in various threads from news sources, etc., without crediting; however, I have never posted anything in my own personal pages without credit to whomever may have taken the original photo.  So, a simple sorry, oops, or do you mind, or my bad, would have been nice.."

I am sorry. I wanted an image of the unbuilt kit to show "before and after" progress and hastily I grabbed the first one I found. If I had known who had taken the image they would have been credited. I still don´t know who "Radman" is.

Furthermore, would anyone in their right mind believe that posting a poorly focussed image of an unbuilt kit is somehow going to boost one´s kudos? I removed the image to cease causing offense. It won´t be missed.

"...makes me wonder what other pictures featured are actually your own."

... and you cross the line there, Radman.
Anyone else here with any doubts about the authenticity of my work, please contact me with a pm and I´ll provide some references. Or you can check out back-issues of "Prehistoric Times", web-sites like "Prehistorics Illustrated" (regretfully "The Dinosauricon" is no longer accessible), a web-forum such as "The Tar Pit", "The Basement", "Planetfigure", the blogs "Dinophiles" or "Dinosaur Modeller", posts at The Society of Vertebrate Paleontology or even come to one of my exhibitions at a modelling show, art-gallery or museum.

Next, tyrantqueen,

"No offense, but why do you keep writing "Spike" at the ends of your posts?"

No offense taken as obviously none was meant here.
Like Simon said, it´s my name and I was educated to use it as a more personal reference for my words than an invented web-moniker like "Gorgosaurus". Maybe I should drop the "Gorgosaurus" id, as Simon again points out it has been YEARS and I´m known (elsewhere) for who I am and what I do.

Thanks for the welcome, Simon, "Jetoar" and "tyrantqueen".

Spike.

Simon

Before this gets out of hand -

Radman - Spike is a long-time large-scale-resin-dino modeler with a weakness for closed-mouth tyrannosaurids (which we like to tease him about.)  His work is well-respected and has been exhibited in museum galleries over in Europe, where he lives.  He meant no harm when he borrowed your photo.

Spike - Radman probably just 'jumped the gun a little' with his comment as we all do from time to time due to the impersonal nature of the Internet. He is not known as a curmudgeon.  He is also a resin-dino modeler.

Now kiss and make up.

;D

radman

Thanks Simon.  I was having a bad day and way overreacted to something trivial.  My apologies, Spike, and a belated welcome to the forum.
