Hi, just joined. Been amazed by dinosaurs since I was a kid and first saw giant skeletons in the Natural History Museum. It still astounds me that there has been this long period of dinosaur rule so far back in time. Amazing! So recently took some photos of some of my son's dinosaurs and ended finding 'Everything Dinosaur' online and buying my first 'toys'. The Papo Spinosaurus takes pride of place, totally made up with this purchase and now deciding on what next - maybe the Papo running Trex or Allosaurus: decisions, decisions.

Like therapods best of all and have found watching captive ratites (ostriches, cassowaries etc.) in recent years fascinating: probably the closest I'll get to the old skool therapods unless that chicken guy starts turning a chickens into dinosaurs.

Also like crocodiles and tried to persuade my mum to let me have an alligator when I was a kid. I even bought a book about keeping them in but my mum said we weren't allowed pets in the flats we lived in.

BTW Found the old forum first and it wasn't obvious to me that this new one existed until I found a link to a continued thread from there today.

Welcome!

We've only very recently moved to this new forum, so many of us are still adjusting ourselves.

DinoToyForum

Welcome Syntarsus! I must put a more obvious link to the new forum on the old forum archive. As Himm notes, we only made the transition within the last week, so you've joined at a good time  :D

Hi and welcome  :)

Papo Spinosaurus is a great start.. if you don't mind some inaccuracy, Papo makes by far some of the most beautiful figures out there. All their dinosaurs are magnificently detailed, so you can't go wrong. The Allosaurus is amazing, and I love the Rexes.

Oh, and I love Cassowaries too  ;D
One of my favorite extant dinosaurs  ;)

Click sig for my collection! :)

Yeah, I think for the more affordable collections, Papo's are among the best - even if based on Jurassic Park's dinosaurs. I have the Spinosaurus too - one of my favorite pieces. I'd recommend the Carnegie (made by Safari...) Giganotosaurus. I still haven't bought one, but it's definitely on my list.

I think it is a little expensive for a figure of that quality.  But to each his own.
