hey everyone I was thinking that Id like a mammoth figure thats not a wooly. I think other than the Papo steppe mammoth thats discontinued anyway, all the others are meant to be woolys right? anyone know if there are some wooly figures that could sorta be more in the grey area of species that they could stand in for another kind like Colombian or imperial? Maybe the wild republic one, the horns sorta curve inward like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/191614292419?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I dont know, maybe one can have the horns resculpted to be another non wooly species? :P

I'm not a mammoth expert but the Carnegie one always looked more like an Imperial to me--too tall, slender and high-bodied compared to the woolly mammoth from Safari or Bully (etc, etc...there isn't a shortage of Woolly mammoths to compare to).

I actually really love the Carnegie one...the only mammoth I currently have is the wild Safari. I usually only collect one of each species of prehistoric mammal but I make exception if a model looks like it could be a different species(like how the AAA entelodont looks  nothing like the Mojo one so I kept the AAA one when I bought the mojo, however I sold off the AAA hyenodon when I bought the mojo hyendon b/c they were pretty similar...)

I wonder if I just get the Papo Steepe Mammoth, I know somewhere online I can get it but it wont be cheap...
