Just because Safari went with a mermaid toob for now doesn't mean that they didn't pay attention to all the other submissions. We shall see what comes in the future.

Also, mermaids are way more matketable to kids, especially girls, than a rather obscure dinosaur species. Considering Safari's loss during the pandemic it's wise of them to have gone with something that has more mass appeal.

Let's look at it from the positive side. If you're kinda tired of dinosaurs and other prehistoric mammals, this is a good opportunity to start a mermaid collection! ;D 

But seriously, I think Sarapaurolophus has a good point. Safari has to sell some toys to make up for the losses of this crisis, and of course kids and their parents will always be the biggest group of customers for them.
