Archosaurs repaints

Tried my luck with repainting the Carnegie Spinosaurus. (Sorry for the somewhat bad/low res photos.) My "logic" for the white underside is that the animal's profile is more camouflaged against the sky, when seen from the perspective of prey, below. The rest of the spots, stripes and mottled appearance is more fantasy than anything else. (And I hope the red/black coloring makes some sense.)

Thank you all! I tried my best using acrylic paint, and I think it works nice. As base coat I used black, but maybe I should have used a combination of black with just a little ochre, so as to make it appear a little less cartoonish. On the other hand, there are birds that do have black skin/scales. And I kind of like black. Anyway, it was kind of a gamble in the first place, starting out without having done much research.
