TRIVIA---April 3, 2018 is the 50th anniversary of the national premiere of Stanley Kubrick's classic 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY.

William Sylvester played Dr. Heywood R. Floyd in 2001. Floyd's daughter was played by Kubrick's daughter, Vivian.







Sylvester appeared as a Pentagon official in the James Bond movie YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE.





Sylvester appeared as a reporter in Warren Beatty's HEAVEN CAN WAIT.





Sylvester starred in the monster movie GORGO with Bill Travers (BORN FREE).

Good post and who would have thought?  Gorgo to Kubrick with only one degree of separation!

As for 2001 reaching half a century, I saw it again last year and it still stands up as a sci-fi great, with a brilliant prehistoric segment too.
