i don't know if this kind of list/s exists already in the main DTB (because i seldom, ifever go there) but it would be great if we have the same kind of lists like the TAI but focused mainly on prehistoric/dinosaur toys and figures. brands then and now plus all the figures made by those companies. it will serve as a checklist for all the collectors and anyone can contribute infos and photos (esp by postsaurischian and RobinGoodFellow and other members with high quality photo collection).
*an online definitive source, and who else should provide/have this but the DTF*

I find the TAI database very handy if I want to look for a specific species, brand or release/discontinued date. But I guess it would be a hell lot of work to build up such a database for the DTB and a justified question if such is needed with the existence of the TAI....

I tend to agree that the TAI is a very good backbone. It would be much easier to add to their existing database than to build a new one from the ground up. DeMarco's Dinosauriana provides a lot of what you're looking for, but a lot of the pictures are kinda meh. I wonder if it would be worth adding a category to TAI for prehistoric animals. I'm an editor, so I can ask.

A simple list would be possible, but the DTB isn't really suitable for anything more complex because the CMS is Wordpress.

But, if there was an interest for generating a new dinosaur-specific database from the ground up, and people to contribute to it, I could host it. e.g. at dinotoyblog.com/wiki or some subdomain.

It could be the holy trinity of dinosaur toy sites: blog, forum, and wiki.  ^-^

I'm not familiar with the TAI database.  What is it, please?

+1

A "DinosaurToyWiki" would be absolutely great. Also much more specific and easy to consult than TAI. Count me in.
