So, remember the "Marching Dinosaurs" and "Cenozoic Beasts" videos?

Well, check this out!

I didn't even recognize the apatosaurus for a second. Where'd those neck spikes come from?

Do you remember when "BRONTOSMASH!" became a paleo-meme in 2015?  SVPOW has a collection of art from that year with brontosaurs/apatosaurs smashing at each other (or on poor hapless allosaurs) with those exaggerated* neck spikes.

Some examples:
https://svpow.com/2019/02/15/brontosmash-in-a-kids-book/
https://svpow.com/2015/10/22/fighting-apatosaur-art-7-the-world-speaks/

https://svpow.com/2015/09/19/fighting-apatosaur-art-1-brian-engh/

So the idea's not exactly new - but I don't know if Apatosaurs are supposed to be that armed, or if this is all just a phase in palaeoart.

I really enjoyed that video though (since I'm admittedly a nutter for scale) - and ended up a bit triggered by those commenters who couldn't help but bring up the inaccuracies.  They did claim to be doing it as part of "constructive feedback" ... but it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Comments on anything relating to dinosaurs have been a plague since JW, I think. You can't go into to a comment section without someone rightly, if not a bit know-it-all-y, pointing out inaccuracies, and then 400 comments saying feathered dinosaurs are silly or, if they're really infantile, "gay". Of course depending on the popularity of the video, its different. Just an observation I thought was relevant.

I really love that there was an underwater sequence. Cute to see the Halszkaraptor and the Spinosaurus paddling along like that.

I also loved the curly brow horns on Triceratops and the awesome beefiness of T. rex.

Well, it did only get uploaded to YouTube on February 26!

Darren Naish had this to say about it:

A lot of the animals in this video are the wrong size. The smaller animals are too large, and the big animals are too small (relative to the human). I mean -- it's still impressive though, with lots of examples showing up-to-dateness and an awareness of discussions and discoveries.
