TRIVIA---more James Bond movie trivia and June 1 is National Dinosaur Day. so dinosaur movie trivia is included.
In ONE MILLION YEARS B.C., Raquel Welch's cavewoman grunts were dubbed by Nikki van der Zyl, a voice actress best known for dubbing the voices of Bond Girls in the classic James Bond movies including THUNDERBALL, DR. NO, GOLDFINGER, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE and others. Welch was supposed to be the Bond Girl in THUNDERBALL, but co-starred in FANTASTIC VOYAGE and was replaced by Claudine Auger, whose voice was dubbed by Nikki van der Zyl.
ONE MILLION YEARS B.C. cast members who also appeared in James Bond movies include Martine Beswick, Robert Brown and Percy Herbert.

ONE MILLION YEARS B.C. featured special effects master Ray Harryhausen's dinosaurs.

I was hoping for a Ray Harryhausen James Bond connection.

I'm a bit confused about the first bit you posted. Was Nikki Vab Der Zyl's voice dubbing of Bond Girls for non-English versions of the films?

JUSTIN:

Nikki van der Zyll dubbed the Bond Girls in the English-speaking versions of the Bond movies. For example, THUNDERBALL's Claudine Auger's French accent was too heavy, DR. NO's Ursula Andress' Swiss accent was too heavy, GOLDFINGER's Shirley Eaton spoke in a Cockney accent, etc.

I don't understand why she dubbed Raquel Welch in ONE MILLION YEARS B.C. because Welch's only dialogue are cavewoman grunts.

Maybe she couldn't get the cro-magnon accent right? ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist. Enjoying the thread anyway and fascinated by these 1960s actors connections. Percy Herbert seemed to be in everything back then, without being a huge star.

CRACKINGTON:

I guess the audience wasn't paying attention to Welch's/van der Zyl's voice-----but Welch's frontal lobes instead. :)
