With the description/re-assessment of 'Prognathodon' stadtmani (= Gnathomortis stadtmani), it has resulted in some interesting outlooks of mosasaur phylogeny. So, potentially the 'Globidensini' have synapomorphic features that are problematic along with the phylogenetic analyses performed demonstrating a potential inclusion of Prognathodon currii (= 'Prognathodon' currii, if this is accepted). I personally feel that a revision of not only the 'Globidensini' but Prognathodon currii could result in this issue being resolved. The Moroccan phosphates are key to some of this issue in my opinion.
