What a sad and terrible death and especially at 39 when he had had a much longer life, perhaps in a way a life ahead of him still at least 30 or 40 years. What a painful story.

Absolutely incredible. What a horrible way to die ....

This is heartbreaking, but if you have to go out one way or another, this is a pretty good way to do it. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/may/24/missing-man-found-dead-inside-spanish-dinosaur-statue

Well this depends on how long he was in there and when he died.  A couple of days of being stuck and not being able to get out doesn't seem like fun to me.

Shouldn't this be combined with a similar previous post?

Definitely sad news. Dinosaur sculptures being used as shelters by the homeless is (sadly) not a new concept to me; but seeing this happen in a more progressive city than mine does add to the heartbreak.

This man wasn't hiding inside, but rather dropped a phone in, presumably while goofing around somehow, then crawled inside without help and got stuck or injured. Still awful, but also sheerly idiotic.

Yeah, you're right. 'Should've read through that new article shared by OP. Was relying on my memory of the original report from "La Vanguardia".  They have since updated their article to indicate that he has family and was reported missing, so not homeless.

It's a bit weird though that all International news outlets are now going with the report that he was trying to get his phone from inside the dinosaur, when the original report says that he used the panel on the belly to enter the sculpture and spend the night, then got stuck in one of the legs.

Sorry, no disrespect meant. It's just that head scratchers like these trigger my [morbid] curiosity.

Reminded me of one of the most terrifying cases I know of, of getting stuck upside down and not getting out anymore - but even deeper, in a cave. https://scariestthing.com/the-horrifying-upside-down-cave-death-of-john-jones-in-utah/

I think it would be an awful, painful way to die, but I it's also an epic way to die. That's where I was going with it. Sorry. I shouldn't have been so insensitive.

Getting stuck in a cave is one of the scariest things I can think of. I thought the scariest part of The Descent was the part before the monsters showed up.
