TRIVIA---makeup artist Milicent Patrick is best known for designing the prehistoric Gill-man in THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON. Her boss, makeup artist Bud Westmore, took credit for the design. When Patrick went on a tout to promote the movie, she was dubbed "The Beauty Who Created the Beast". When she returned, she found Westmore had Universal Studios fire her so only he would be associated with the Gill-man's design.
Patrick also designed the alien in IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE and the Metaluna Mutant from THIS ISLAND EARTH.
