NECA - New for 2024 (DINOSAURS 1994 line)

Neca has gone mum on some of their Disney lines like Gargoyles too which had two new releases shown. Those still haven't been given release dates.  I'm not sure if it's Disney, the factory issues they had, or what. But they do sometimes go years then just drop a new figure or two. Sometimes at anniversaries or some such thing. Sadly not every line can be TMNT.

Yeah, their Gremlins line is notorious for disappearing for many years and then showing back up with new figures and sets. It is a bit annoying that we've seen numerous previews of Gargoyles figures like Coldstone and Macbeth without any further information on when to expect them.

Yes, still waiting on the Veggie Gremlin among others..of course we have like 4 Gretas but they did finally give us her so..

I've read they have had computer system issues, staffing problems and more even getting product out from the warehouse was problematic but it seems to be slowly resolving itself.  My Capt Impressive was pretty slow in arriving. I was told it was coming from another warehouse.

I hadn't read about those issues. Interesting to hear.

As far as Veggie Gremlin, I'd wager the biggest hurdle is that it'd have to be a completely new sculpt, with little potential to re-use any of it. We got Greta BECAUSE they could release multiple different outfits while utilizing the same sculpt. Most gremlins share a lot of body pieces or even the entire body. But Vegetable Gremlin would require all new parts, which is a lot of tooling investment, especially when you can only really offer one figure out of it. You'd have to be convinced that figure would sell enough to make back the investment costs and I'm not sure it would with a single release.

That's very true. They could release it in a two pack with Lenny as a chef to increase the cost. They might still have his mold laying around. I have the first version. They did update Brain though.

DINOSAURS should be a gold mine of reusable sculpts. So many episodes and they just changed outfits. Even to make new male/female characters.

2 pack would be a good idea to at least get some more value out of the release.

Dinosaurs could have endless 2 packs if they made main sculpts of the frequently used puppets and just dressed them up in different soft goods, more or less like what they've done with Earl. They could make Earl's coworkers, doctors, businessmen, classmates. It'd just be neat to have a big group of generic dino-people.

The most likely future Dinosaurs release I'd bet on, at this point, would be Pearl Sinclair, since they'd probably just put a bunch of new soft goods and accessories on the basic Earl sculpt.

What if they also did a Baby repaint of the one from the episode where they thought there might have been a mix-up at birth? He was a pretty fun character but i don't know if the demand would be there for a release. I probably would not pay £60 for one, myself.

Switched at Birth is the episode you mean I think. Aubrey is the baby dressed like Earl.  They had to put a ton of accessories with Baby to make him worth the cost. If they did a set with him and Baby again, maybe use the highchair and add a stroller?  They could add Earl into it again but that's pushing it for me just to get Aubrey. If they made his mom and dad or did both babies with Solomon the Great? I'd take a Ramona to go with it lol

Both of those would be interesting additions. The mammals would be fine for their own set  I would think. Howard you only ever see on tv being he's just a puppet version. So I'm not sure how they would do him, maybe give him a body? Like with B.P. Richfield. Guarantee his box would be a tv set.

That said I'm sure there are a ton to do before we get to any of them. A deluxe Monica figure would be cool too though

If Neca gives up I might start getting some 3D printed. Wouldn't be super hard I don't think.
