Tarbosaurus: The Mightiest Ever destroyed my heart

Obligatory disclaimer: I know this movie isn't scientifically accurate, I went into it expecting fiction.

That said, it is such a sad story that it really broke my heart. It made me cry hard, sobbing and all. Now it's been over 2 days and I'm still sad. So I'm sharing my experience as a way to vent a bit because I don't know what to do and I'm not sure how I'll get over it except with time. This is just as sad as The Ballad of Big Al, which left me feeling the same way for a long time when I was little. That ending just touches the most sensitive part of my heart and with dinosaurs involved it multiplies the emotional impact by 100 on me because I love them so much.

Many thanks for creating this thread avatar_Paleomimi @Paleomimi  :D

I love Tarbosaurus : the Mightiest Ever and my avatar doesn't lie lol.
It is a poignant documentary, in spite of some scientific inaccuracies (I'm thinking here about the physical appearance of the Velociraptors among other things :|| )
It is the first docu/animations I saw about dinosaurs but I viewed it many times after.
Nevertheless, like you, I had tears in my eyes each time I saw again certain scenes, for instance when Patch loses his siblings or the last scene when he dies of the injuries made by the Therizinosaurus in front of a lake, even if the latter has something poetic...
In the same vibe, March of the Dinosaurs, with the adorable little Scar, has also its touching moments.

But their dramatic side shouldn't destroy our hearts, on the contrary.
I think that they convey a rather beautiful as well as powerful message : the inexorability of life with its unchanging cycle.

Ah, I remember TTME. It was a fun movie, but most of the dramatic scenes felt just a bit too goofy to hit for me  :*D  The final battle in the water was an exception there, though.

Spinokaprogorgon

Anyone else cried at the end of walking with dinosaurs? I still shed a tear when I think about it :'( . The way that the baby tyrannosauruses were trying to wake up their mom, reminded me of how simba wanted to wake mufasa up in the lion king, not knowing he's actually dead.
When life closes a door, open it again! It's a door that's how they work, dummies!

I don't remember the first time I finished WWD, but I definitely remember crying a little at the end of dinosaur revolution.

Thanks, glad I'm not the only one that got moved by Patch's sad story. By now I'm feeling better. Also, sorry for taking a while to answer, I've been busy. I do find that cycle to be quite a cruel one although that's just the reality we live in, I wish it didn't have to be this way.

Thanks, I got the same issue of the video being blocked in my country, I'll need a VPN.

Oh my god, yes. You just unlocked a memory from me: now I remember that whenever I rewatched the VHS/DVD I had, I always skipped the end because of that.

Something similar happened with Prehistoric Park. I hadn't seen this one since I was a kid and unlike WWD I didn't have the DVD. Recently I finally decided to get myself the DVD and in my memory, I remembered Prehistoric Park as an entirely wholesome and lighthearted show. Imagine my surprise when the mama t-rex got killed in front of it's babies, blood and all. Both me and my mom were shocked, I think we erased this scene from our memory because we did not remember it at all.

The 2-part film seems to be on Youtube. Here is Part 1.

Is it just me or does the narrator sound just like the "True Facts.." series guy? It makes it difficult to take it seriously ;D (Apologies for Youtube links - there was no alternative :-\ )

Yeah, the english version sounds kinda weird. The french dub has a more fitting voice

The french version is called La vie des dinosaures. I saw it on amazon prime but it's also on youtube:

Okay, thanks for sharing :)
I've already started watching it, have planned to view the second part this evening with a bucket of popcorn but for the moment, I prefer the English version.
Perhaps because the French narrator's voice has something less dramatic, more like a National Geographic's reporter ? IDK
However, I forgot how lunar were the Tsintaosaurus :o

PS avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum I agree with you regarding the intrusive and overabundant video ads on Youtube they kinda kill the momentum >:(

PPS avatar_Paleomimi @Paleomimi I dig your Dinosaurus cookies style avatar ;)
