Last Call on Battat Collection Diplodocus & Acrocanthosaurus!

Diplodocus
Acrocanthosaurus

Are all that remain, the rest have been spoken for!

Ironically I've had more people PM me about these two than any of the other dinosaurs, but everyone has either backed out or not responded after the initial inquiry.   I will use Simon's price ranges below as a guide for offers for the dinosaurs!   If I don't get any concrete responses about these in the next day or so it's off to ebay, which I really don't want to do.  Thanks as always, to all those who offered advice and for those that put forth various offers!

Pics of the dinos can be found here:

In the photobucket you'll see 17 figures from the Battat collection

Diplodocus
Acrocanthosaurus
Are all that's left.

Just in case I am always on the lookout for a handful of toy grails, so I'd be willing to trade for the following:  Complete(armor or better) Dino Riders Pachyrhinosaurus and/or DR Chasmosaurus.  Also, a Jurassic Park prototype Chaos Effect Ultimasaurus(this is a different discussion entirely, as I'd obviously be paying you in addition to giving up the dinos).

I am free to take any questions, and may put up individual prices as I get more information(I look forward to Simon's input, hopefully, and may change things accordingly)!  If anyone needs more pictures or specific pictures, feel free to ask!

Thanks again to everyone.

Below is the original post just in case:
Hey everyone, sorry if this thread isn't 100% in the right place..

Long time lurker here, planning a big move to Hawaii and can't take most of my stuff with me.

Among my many thousands of dinosaur toys and merchandise is a mostly complete collection of Battat dinosaurs(the full size, not the minis).  They are in played with condition, but I figure as they seem to be quite desirable that I can still unload them, helping both me get some additional funds for the move, not have to move so much stuff, and help out some fellow members of the dinosaur loving community who have been seeking these out.  When I say played with condition I mean just that-  I played with these guys as a kid, banged them around, and as such there are some minor paint scrapes and such on some of the figures.  I will detail this completely with pictures when I have a little more time, but they are in mostly decent condition.  On some of them it's not noticable at all, and on others anyone with virtually 0 painting skill could easily touch them up.  I believe the Styracosaur has a horn broken, unfortunately, but as far as I know this is the only serious defect(edit:  this is not the case, no horns, claws, tails, or any part is broken.  all dinosaurs are intact).

I'm sort of debating on what to do with them, and would love some opinions.  I'm very wearing of ebay-  I was recently burned on there as a victim of someone claiming I sent them an empty box so I lost both the item and the money, but admittedly would like to hopefully get a decent amount for some of these guys.  Any comments are appreciated and sorry again if this is in the wrong area!

I'll try and grab some pictures when I get a bit of free time in the next couple of days.

Simon

Hi.  I have a complete collection and I'm not interested in doubles, so .... give me the weekend to create a list of the figures with a price range that I think is reasonable (taking into account ebay and non-ebay transactions on Battats that I have monitored or engaged in the past 5-10 years). Obviously, selling directly to a club member also reduces your expenses.

I know that there are a number of members around here (Ikesauro?) who are looking for a Battat collection, or looking to complete one.

So .... stay tuned.  I will have some ideas for you by Monday.

Hi there

Yes Simon, I'm looking to complete my Battat collection. I have found some and still need a bunch of them. Rez, if you decide to sell them, i'd get some, depending on the condition and on how much you ask for each. I guess your best option is to place some photos of them in here and offer them individually, because collectors like me, who already spent some money on other individual figures hardly are going to pay much money for the whole set, even more one that isn't mint, unless the person has a lot of money laying around... what, as far as we all know, isn't the case of us dino collectors. Send me a PM with the prices and photos of them and maybe we can make a deal. I guess selling individual ones you can make more money than with the whole set, because there will be more people interested and with lower prices (compared to the full set value) the chances of you selling them all is high.

I'm interested, but I guess it's too late now, the vultures have landed :(

I'd be interested the Maiasaura, Triceratops, Carnotaurus and Diplodocus, if they're still available.

Btw, I have a eBay feedback score of 500+ positives, with no neutrals or negatives, if you need proof of my trustworthiness (and I can link to it too) :P

Rez

Thank you all for your interest!  Tyrant, no worries, nothing has been sold yet and nothing will be sold until I get all of them out of storage and completely detail them with pictures.  I've also been checking around to get a rough idea of what some of them are worth, and will wait on whatever info Simon comes up with as well.  Any Schultz fan is okay in my book  :))

I am open to selling them individually but would jump at the chance to sell the lot, just to cut down on post office madness.

Also, just as a "no chance in hell" kind of stipulation, I'm always on the lookout for a complete Dino Riders Pachyrhinosaurus and DR Chasmosaurus, and a Jurassic Park Chaos Effect Ultimasaurus prototype..  So if some crazy soul out there has any one of these and wants to work out a trade or combination trade/cash, that would definitely take precedence(moving funds be damned!).

And for anyone worried about me, I am a longtime member of OctoberToys forum, with a huge record of buys/sales/trades there.  I will take any questions you guys have and will keep you updated, I've found about half of my Battats so far boxing everything up.

Thanks again.

You'll find many of us want the odd one or two . I would post pics first and then either let the offers fly or figure up a price for them with Simon's generous offer.  You could still do " or best offer " as well.  Good luck !

What about if I offered to pay whatever price you wanted (no questions asked) for the Maiasaura, Trike and perhaps the Diplo too? It probably sounds lame but I badly want the Maiasaura, I intend to use it for a repaint I have in mind :)

Rez

Thanks again everyone for your advice, interest and patience!

Here's the group so far..  Pachycephalosaurus and Maiasaura are still MIA but hopefully I'll find them in one of the many boxes of my old house.  I know they're around here somewhere, it's just a matter of if I can track them down!  These guys are in better condition than I thought-  all horns and tails are intact, and there's just some paint scuffing here and there.

I'll take better detail shots hopefully monday or tuesday, just wanted to get this up here really quickly.

Ikessauro

I am mostly interested in the T.rex, Parasaurolophus and Carnotaurus. But also want Dilophosaurus, Ceratosaurus Version 1, Gallimimus and Ouranosaurus.

Rez

First post is updated with link to extensive pics and details!!

Ikessauro

Nice... but the Diplo doesn't sell for more than 300 anymore. Maybe it did before, but the normal range is 200 to 300 USD. In the last 2 to 3 years I haven't seen a Diplo go for more than 300 and if any did go for that much was a rare case.  I'm throwing some offer for individuals via PM Rez, check them out.

Rez

Thanks for the heads up and I will!  I'll probably field offers for a couple of days before I make any concrete decisions.  Also I appreciate anyone giving me heads up on prices-  especially if the lot winds up being split up.  I'm not looking to rob anyone, just to help with my various expenses and get whatever the going rates are.  Beyond that I'm open to anyone fighting it out with their wallets!

Here is what I belatedly came up with:

This is based on my observations over the past few years on ebay.  Of course you have outliers (and everyone seems to remember the highest a certain figure has ever gone) but I think the ranges below are reasonable based on what I've observed.

Diplodocus - $175 to upwards of $300 (if you put it on ebay and get a bidding war started)
TRex - $70 to $150
Acrocanthosaurus - $75 to $200 (believe it or not this one is rarer than the TRex and is usually sells for more than any piece other than the Diplo)
Ceratosaurus - $50 to $100
Triceratops - $50 to $100
Utahraptor - $30 to $60
Stegosaurus - $25 to $40
Euplocephalus - $30 to $50
Carnotaurus - $50 to $70
Gallilimus - $25 to $50
Pachycephalosaurus - $25 to $50
Dilophosaurus - $20 to $30
Parasaurolophus - $25 to $50
Maiasaura - $35 to $50
Styracosaurus - $25 to $40
Edmontonia - $25 to $40
Amargasaurus - $25 to $40
Ouranosaurus - $20 to $40

Rez

Thanks for the guide Simon, it was very helpful in deciding various offers!

All dinos are either sold or spoken for EXCEPT:

Diplo
Acroc

Updated 1st post above.

Rez

Big thanks to all who purchased!  All packages have been shipped and should be on their way to various countries with the exception of one going out this Saturday, at least one has already been received!  I hope you all enjoy them as much as I have.
