Regardless of whether this thing is a juvenile Tyrannosaurus, it cannot be considered evidence that Nanotyrannus and Tyrannosaurus are separate. To demonstrate this, the holotype of Nanotyrannus and nothing else must be demonstrated to be a separate taxon from Tyrannosaurus. If this is done, then perhaps Jane and this specimen can be referred to Nanotyrannus. But demonstrating that Nanotyrannus and Tyrannosaurus are different taxa requires that the Nanotyrannus holotype show distinctive characters.
