So I'm not sure exactly what category to post this under, but does anyone know of good reference material, either websites or books, for mesozoic plants?  Sometimes wikipedia is helpful, for example I think they have a page on the Lance Creek Formation with a big list of fossil plant genera, but with other fossil sites it's hard to find any info on plant species.  I'll share the best sites I've found so far here for any other artists or just anyone interested.

https://sites.google.com/site/paleoplant/

this site has a lot of info on different plant groups, including less commonly seen kinds like seed ferns and sphenophyllophyes.  sadly it doesn't really tell what lived where and when and with what dinosaurs.

this has some great entries on bennettites and a few reconstructions of plant communities.  it inspired my drawing of liaoceratops amongst a grove of baikalophllyum.

this book is pretty old but the illustrations show and name a lot of plants, beyond the usual araucaria/fern/cycad.  it's great because each plant community is from a specific time/place.  If only they'd put out a second volume showing more recently discovered fossil sites.

this book too, shows specific plant communities and names the genera.

Does anybody know of any sites/books to add to this list?

I don't, but this is extremely useful, especially as I get into paleobotany and angiosperm evolution.

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no
