Hi all. Lately I've been trying to find some models to build on my own, and I was interested in resin kits and I have a few basic questions.

How do you build from one? What do you do to make it? Are they appropriate for an 18 year old who's never built one before? How easy is it? Is learning to paint and build them a tough process? Can you give me a few details on what it's like to build from one?

Thanks!

I'm sure you can find more by Googling.

If you're serious about learning, try a kit in a small scale to start with. If you mess up (and you WILL mess up the first time around) it won't cost you too much. This is an expensive hobby. It takes time and patience, so if you're one of those people who wants instant gratification, this probably isn't the past time for you.

In basic terms, you glue the pieces together and paint it. However, the process is usually a little more complicated than that.

If you have the patience to learn a new skill I don't see any problems.

Difficulty varies from kit to kit. It can be hard when you're first starting out. Perseverance is key ;)

It can be frustrating when the building doesn't go the way you plan, but it can be very rewarding when you reach the end of your project and you achieve the results you wanted. You will have a sense of accomplishment because you know that it is something you built yourself, not paid another person to do.

If you have any more questions please ask them.

Yeah, don't collect more than you can build depending upon your time. It takes time to properly build these things. Make sure you pin all the parts you join together and be careful with how much glue you use. Invest in some Magic Sculpt to fill in any gaps and seams in your model. Also, never feed them after midnight.  :o
