Any good places to fossil hunt on the Isle of Wight?

Has anyone ever been there? I was thinking maybe Brook Bay or Yarmouth. When I go next week hopefully I'll find something.

There are some excellent places all over the island. Yaverland beach near Sandown is good and is near the excellent Dinosaur Isle museum. I booked a fossil trip with them a few years ago, which was brilliant. There are sauropod tracks on the beach which were visible at the time as winter storms had cleared the layers of sand off them. I found a croc coprolite much to the delighted disgust of my daughter! Pterosaurs, theropods and other fossils have also been found there, and of course Yaverlandia too.

Ok, that sounds good. Have you been to Brook Bay or Yarmouth?  :)

Only short, non-fossil hunting visits to Yarmouth I'm afraid. I've had a few family holidays there though and Whitecliff Bay on the Eastern side of the island is good too (Cretaceous chalk). I'd recommend Dinosaur Isle as good place to start and they have regular fossil walks:

They have some fantastic fossils and dinosaur reconstructions and their shop is also good for dino models - lots of Collecta and other brands.
