Hello, you all may remember this past summer, a very talented artist by the name of Nicholas Fonseca advertised his Kickstarter campaign for his 1/5 Deinonychus model kit. Here is a link to his Kickstarter that has pictures of the original kit.  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1501413356/dinosaur-model-deinonychus-wolf-of-the-early-creta/description   There is a link on that page to his web page where if you are interested in one you may beagle to squire a kit.
I received my kit in Sept. and have been working on it off and on since then. I finally got inspired and finished it over the Christmas holiday. It is such a nice kit and very large. I made some minor modifications to the kit by adding some feathers to the back of the legs around the calves. This is only my second Dino model, the other you may remember being the Pegasus T-Rex, so I hope you like it.

Wow, nicely done! You say this is only the second kit you've built?

Dobber

Thanks' it is only the second Dino kit I've built, I usually build aircraft and sci-fi subjects. Not a lot of experience with figures/live subjects.  :-[

I daresay you've taken to it rather well.

For your second dinosaur build, you did good :) Especially considering how unforgiving modelling can be.

You're a rookie you say?  Wow!  Very impressive!  You must be naturally talented!

Redonix76

Very impressive!!!! I Have the kit build...just haven't gotten around to finishing him up like you did! After seeing yours, I'm definitely considering to finish him up!!! You did a beautiful job that compliments Nicholas Fonseca's sculpt perfectly!

Cool! It is great to see one of my models built and painted. I am keen to see others takes on the paint work. Good job!

Thanks everyone, and thank you Nick for producing such a great kit. Anything else coming in the future? Maybe a 1/1 or 1/2 scale Velociraptor or Microraptor? I'd love to see your take on a T-Rex too.  ;D

Your welcome! Keep up the good work.

No 1/1 scale in the works just yet, unless it is about the size of the Deinonychus sculpt haha ;) I do have another sculpt in the works as we speak. It is a 1/5 scale Anzu wyliei. This bugger is huge! Even though it is roughly the same length as the Deinonychus it is a much bigger animal. Of course it is too late to scale down so I am just going to have to run with it. I am going to post some pics over on Deviantart "or here if anyone is interested" in a few days/week depending on when I am ready to show progress. You can see an early image of the skull of it on Deviantart at the moment. I was very lucky to get some great photos of the skull from Mike Triebold to augment the images from the paper, and the internet. I am really excited to be working on an Ovoraptorid. I am really stoked to do the detailing of the crest.

Also, if there is any interest you can find the Deinonychus here at:https://www.etsy.com/shop/FonsecaArtAndDesign

Feel free to post any pics/links you like bud. Can't wait to see the Anzu, I've actually considered this guy as 1:1 for the Park at some point. :)
