Hi everyone,

I think this may be a long shot, but I hope I'm wrong.

In the late '80s/early '90s when I was about 4 or 5, Texas fast food chain, Whataburger, offered small semi-translucent rubber dinosaur figurines as kids meal prizes. I recall them lining the drive thru window so that as your car went thru, you could pick out the dinosaur that you wanted.  I ended up with a couple of them, but I don't remember them offering anything like them subsequently.

A couple years later in 1992, Dinamation's dinosaurs made a trip to my neck of the woods in South Texas.  For several months, they set up a temporary home at the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, TX.  Whataburger did a big promotion for "Dinosaur Safari" as it was called at the zoo. They had t-shirts, cups, decorations, and coupons for Dinosaur Safari.  The kids meal bags and cups also featured Dinosaur Safari artwork, and the kids meals themselves came with commemorative dinosaur coins.  They basically went all out in promoting it.

Anyhow, I am wondering if by some slight chance, someone who lives/lived in South Texas at the time here might remember the initial Whataburger dinosaur toy offering or the subsequent Dinosaur Safari promotion and commemorative coins.  I have very fond memories of these items but unfortunately no longer have any of them.

Here is a photo of a Whataburger Dinosaur Safari t-shirt I found on Etsy:

I lived in north Texas at the time, but I only remember obtaining dinosaur coins at that time.  Not sure if they were from whataburger, but got them around the early 90's, so maybe.
