He probably just found it through google and didn't bother to look up the original artist :-\

The original artwork has my name and website on it so the effort required to find me was minimal. I would've said "yes" if they had asked for permission, anyway, so I'm not too bothered.

It's not ideal but I can kinda relate. Maybe he was searching Google for a very specific kind of design and yours just so happened to be the one, so they just went and got it done without giving it too much though.

Wow, this is amazing. So glad i came upon this thread. I really love how you do skin and scale textures. Great work Doctor Admin

I can think of no greater honor as an artist than to have someone get a tattoo of my work, but I also think it's basic decency to ask first. I wrote illustrator Tony DiTerlizzi before I got two of his pieces tatted, and he wrote me back with his enthusiastic blessings (and nifty free goodies).

I recently had a hankering to do some clay sculpture, so I invested in some material and tools. I'm making a 1:1 Lariosaurus based on a fossil cast. If it all goes well - and this is already my second attempt - my plan is to make a mould and paint some casts. Progress so far....

Starting off with measurements from the fossil

Taking shape. The original failed attempt is in the background.

Happy with the overall proportions and posture.

Next to add the details and hope I don't mess it up!

Cool! And casts, you say...

If it goes well. It might not go well! But I have the silicone ready and waiting. The clay model is only temporary, it is pottery clay and I have no kiln, so this has been the plan from the beginning. This has influenced the pose - I'm trying to avoid large overhangs. The first successful mould will go on display at the museum if I think it's good enough. After that, we'll see...

Looks great! The materials you're using along with the pose remind me of an old-fashioned museum model.

Nice! Your failed attempt looks better than some of my successes lol
