I wanted to avoid mentioning his name as I might assume he is travelling or there is otherwise an explanation, but, without prejudice, the sooner I can settle our transaction the better I'll feel.

I've already sent three or four mails over the course of more than one week/one calendar week.

Thanks.

As someone that has ordered with you for years...I still support a 'deposit' system for anyone new and unproven. They earn the right to credit, just like a business or grown up would do for things like loans and purchases.

Just my thoughts. You shouldn't be out money because someone doesn't grasp the system or check their emails. Unless it's stuff that other people want. Then find a new buyer.

So says draconian me apparently... >:D

Hey Sean.

I appreciate the suggestion and have taken deposits from new buyers when amounts have been large/figures might not be easily sold later.  I otherwise like to be as service friendly as I can manage.  Might have to reconsider.  Of course the other issue is that this can happen with anyone--not just a new buyer, so there's that, for whatever it means in terms of it not being so simple a decision.

In this case, the amount is large enough, but not enormous, and I can likely sell the pieces involved--likely for more money if on eBay--even if it involves a wait.

The arguably bigger problem is that every inconsistency, glitch, problem, exception, repetitive request, delay, etc., though usually fine on their own, add up to an enormous amount of time spent on things that needn't require it.  And I take the occasional opportunity to mention it so as to remind/encourage/discourage buyers accordingly.

But certainly I'm going to explore every avenue when it comes to retrieving funds owed, hence all this.  The fact that, as you may recall, I took an $800 loss the first time I did this about ten years ago, weighs on my mind every time something like this happens.  If I could afford any loss at all, I likely wouldn't be doing this, at least not on this scale (I'd still take care of my charter members...   Ha ha.).

Hoping it turns out to be a nonissue in this case.

Thanks again.
Brett

As a first-timer I have NO problem fronting a deposit etc.  In fact, it would make me more comfortable - I know some folks like Dean @ DeJankins will ship and then you pay; but I think it's unrealistic for those of us who buy to not have some skin in the game.  Of course, Brett living about 20 miles away makes the "I know where you live !" threat a bit more credible ...................  ::)

Ha ha, Dick.  'preciate the support.

But you don't want to come here; I have attack cats, turtles, squirrels, mallards, and one woodchuck (Woodrow Charles I) I can get between us in the yard...

Trusting people has mostly worked out for me; Problem is that it only takes/took once, and I'm not in a position to have it happen again.

As for Dean, I can only aspire to his good nature.  I don't like to give in to stereotypes, but he's from the South, and well, as you noted, you know where I live...   ;  )
