It is now Dracoraptor hanigani

...and yet again just because it's a theropod everyone's calling it a "cousin of T. rex."

Exactly how I felt about the whole T.rex thing :P But hey my countries national dinosaur it seems lol

Imagine the uproar if mammals were introduced like that: Canis lupus, a distant relative of P. leo.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Isn't that kinda how Synapsids and Primates are handled?

That's why you never want to read the news articles about new taxa, just the paper :) And eventually, blog posts by palaeontologists.
I dig the reconstruction up there, but I don't think it'd have rectangular scuta on its feet, it's a basal neotheropod.

PaleoMatt

Wait, it has draco in it's name! Welsh Dragons yay!

I couldn't find the paper.
