Hi all, been a reader for a while now but this is my first actual thread.

I'm always on the lookout for new prehistoric-themed songs and bands, and I figured this forum might be the single most likely place to pick up some new ones. Not really looking for anything aimed at children or movie/documentary soundtracks, but other than that, I'm open to pretty much any genre.

Already on my radar is

Phanerozoic I: Paleozoic and Phanerozoic II: Mesozoic|Cenozoic albums by The Ocean

Tiktaalika album by Charlie Griffiths

Predator X and Theia by King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard

Slickleg, Call of the Mastodon, Megalodon, and Trilobite by Mastodon

Island in the Clouds by Haken

triassic love song by Paris Paloma

The Dinosaur's Skin

crazy8wizard

What about the Antiquasaurus album by Ian Cooke? It has tracks titled Tyrannosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Quetzalcoatlus, and Microraptor

I'll have to check that out, thanks!

Gotta recommend Diplodocus—they call their stuff "Dino-synth".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't this thread be combined w/"Dinosaurs in Music"?: https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=5498.0

Paleowolf is a great artist, they produce ambient music with prehistoric themes ranging from Paleozoic soundscapes to Ice Age human tribal music. There's also some fantasy and Nordic style ambience if you're into that.

Here's one of their Mesozoic ambient tracks:

Hello and welcome to the forum! It´s great you decided to quit lurking and become active here.  :)

To what extent do you think this new thread should differ from this already existing one?

Not sure if counts, but I got an idea.
You know Celtic Carnyx?

I was thinking what if someone made one designed like and meant to sound like a hadrosaur. I expressed this idea in a novel i am writing, where some of the nomadic characters communicate by these "dragon-trumpets" with different intonations and meanings based on the type of dinosaur used. Hadrosaur means from XYZ clan/caste, Sauropods mean another, Azhdarchids another, etc.
Someone already made a hadrosaur like instrument though:

Does anyone else know any dinosaurs inspired instruments, real or concepts?
