hey all

After scrolling through the Photo's of us topic and landing on Page 31, I experienced something strange:

Here a screenshot of the odd authentication pop up I kept getting when viewing that page:

These pages also show the same issue:

The Web browser I use = Waterfox 56.2.9 (64-bit)

If I find more such things I will post them in this thread , hope this helps  :)

Can confirm this happens to me (and I'm on a different OS and browser to Tylo, before anyone asks).

Both of you are in the EU, could this be related to region?

No idea really.
About 7 years ago a similar thing happened at voodooalert.de; a 3dfx fan forum, yet that is a German website, hence this site being a European site, I find it rather strange that it happens on a European site if that would be the case.

Personally I think it's a code based issue or it's from some gallery website someone is using that is asking authorization for others to view.

^Same here

While browsing and clicking on various photos in the links Tylo provided, I found out what's causing the pop up; it's the website avatar_Libraraptor @Libraraptor is using to host his photos  :o

Yes, definitely the image hosts are causing the pop ups. There isn't anything I can do about it. :(

I don't use Bilder-speicher. de anymore. I use postimage.org but maybe I still host some older pictures on Bilder-speicher. de... Does this cause serious problems ?

This thread shows a transition between images hosted on bilder-speicher.de and postimage.org: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=5660.0

Nothing serious (clicking on 'Cancel' gets rid of it for as long as I'm on the page), but it is a minor annoyance to anyone browsing a thread who encounters it.

The pop up stops the page loading, until it is clicked, and even then the images don't work anyway. The best solution to stop the pop ups is to edit the posts to delete all the links.

Yeah well I thought this was worth mentioning, if I find anything else I'll surely make notes of it and make a topic like this, always is worth mentioning :)
I use abload.de it's free and no odd pop-ups thanks to AdBlock Ultimate  8)
