@dinotoyforum  You have a very varied and very beautiful collection, I see all the brands of toy dinosaurs that exist in the market apart from seeing magnificent resin figures. It is a very cool collection. I congratulate you.

As for the dust on the figures, it also happens to me. Cleaning my endless figures is a daily struggle. When some figures are clean, others have just been filled with dust.

My collection has grown a bit since I took those photos. At the moment it is still in storage following my house move last year, but soon I will be able to unbox everything and put it all on display properly.

I'll be buying some dedicated display cabinets to help solve the dust problem. I may even get some bespoke display cabinets if I can't find something ready made to suit my needs.

Cabinets will improve your dust problem. But they won't eradicate it, in my experience. My custom-made cabinets have good close-fitting doors but plenty of dust sneaks in, especially after redecorating another room (plaster dust!) You should have seen my duster yesterday when I tackled a couple of shelves!

The main reason for the delay is that I need to sort out some building works and basics in our house, first: damp-proofing, carpets, rewiring. I don't want to put my collection on display only to have to move/pack it shortly thereafter. We are way behind our planned schedule, partly because more needed doing than we expected, and partly as a consequence of Covid19 lockdown. But these are minor quibbles in the grand scheme of things.

Even as I typed, I was thinking that museum cabinets must be much more dust-proof than my cabinets. Those look very elegant too, as well as practical.  I see they even have a display table!  Wouldn't that be wonderful for a display of the bits and pieces of fossils I have!  Not sure where I would fit it in though...

I only have one cabinet (some Ikea black wood thing) but I "sealed" the door by adding sealing tape (as used to seal drafty windows) to the frame of the cabinet. The door needs a little bit more force to be opened and closed than before but dust can only get in if the door is opened. Other than that it is basically air tight.

I was so taken with the idea of the dust-free display table, that I contacted the firm. Sadly they are unable to take orders at present for this line of cabinets as their supplier has not opened "yet" post-Covid. Given that the main target for this line would be for shops, I suspect that they might never re-open.

İf your not busy a wet dustcloth is good for cleaning but the cleaning lots of figurines with wet dustcloth is a lot of work.
