Quote from: Blade-of-the-Moon on July 03, 2023, 07:49:06 PMDINOSAURS would certainly have some issues in that department, reusing parts. Earl with work accessories, his sister Pearl, maybe the super hero version of him if you want to dig deep.  Baby..I think all you really need is in this set? He comes with just about everything. I guess they could do some more alternate head sculpts?    Now if they get past the main cast and start doing the random other dinos like Robbie's gf, the doctor, ect.. those are mainly just costumes they used to make other characters.  I think a Howard Handupme figure would be pretty cool..or a Mr. Lizardset lol

I think at minimum we'll get a "work" version of Earl. The lunchbox and hardhat are both "iconic" enough that their absence in the initial Earl figure is pretty telling. They'll probably use the same body, include a new facial expression head, and a cloth work shirt.

I would still get it easy.  The " Poor Slob with Terrible Job " version..bonus if it includes a tree and Rizzick ( sp?).  I just can't help wanting a bunch of others. Aside from Jurassic Park I did play with the older figures. I couldn't quite figure out how to make their volcanic house so I just stacked rocks together at the creek. lol

I had the entire set of the older toys too and would play with them alongside my other, more traditional, dinosaur toys. The finale of that show absolutely crushed me.

I guess I was fortunate I didn't see the ending until much later on Disney Channel. I do recall running to a computer and looking up episodes, hoping it wasn't the last one. This was just one more of Earl's blunders and in typical TV fashion the next day would reset with another new problem. It didn't.  They were gone.   Not even the recap episode with the paleontologist did anything to really prepare me for that. What was typically thought of as a comedy show went out with hard core drama.

I knew it was the finale and up to that point had been watching the show religiously on TV every week since it started. I had the toys, puzzles, VHS tapes, all kinds of merchandise. I was hyped and ready for the last episode without any worry for the character's themselves. It was devastating. I cried. Up to that point I had never experienced anything like that from a TV show. I'm over it now, lol, the show definitely was never intended for young children.

I don't know..I think it appealed to all ages. It did a pretty good job of that. My aunts remember watching it, me of course, and now I show some select episodes to my niece and nephew. Maybe they'll like it a bit and watch more later?  You just are going to have to be ready to explain things..lord knows I asked my mom a lot of questions she wasn't totally prepared for lol

Received my Baby Sinclair, he has a LOAD of accessories.

I may need a second one to make the Golden Child.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Earl arrived today, had to deck em' out for Christmas.  The detail is great, he's a HEAVY figure too. A little tallerr than the old figure from the 90s he has a lot of nice detail too.

Ordered my Earl from Target since I can't seem to find him in stores. Should be here Thursday! Very excited. Started going back and watching the show on Disney +. I haven't seen it since I was a child watching it on TV. It's a lot funnier than I remember.

I've been ordering a lot from Best Buy, they seem to get some pieces faster than others. I did have to order two of each, to use both heads lol Probably bite me in the rump when they make alternate versions but hey I'm supporting the line .

Yeah, it's almost a certainty we'll get a "WeSaySo" Earl with construction hat, lunchbox and uniform.

There's no way NECA won't double dip on this one.

But it'll likely have at least two all new facial expressions so you may have made the right call.

I use the NECA head display stands, you can sometimes find them in the collectible section of Target, they were hard to come by for a while but it seems like they're getting easier to find. They're great for showing off heads without having to get a whole new figure.

Maybe they will pair him up with Roy and or Richfield. Like the Tokka and Razhar set for TMNT?

Huh, I've never seen those.  I'll have to look. Do they work better than the bases Neca sells? lol   I usually have figures I double dip on like this set up here at home and in my workshop too.

Definitely possible, I'd love a set like that.

The head stands are nice. Each stand has interchangeable pegs, two sizes of "balls" and a couple of straight pegs at different angles.

Here's just to see, I wouldn't buy them from Amazon, they're really pricey, but I am starting to see them show up more regularly in the "collectibles" section of Target, where the NECA and Funkos, etc. are: https://www.amazon.com/NECA-Action-Display-figures-accessories/dp/B0765CY8RK/

I'm up for it. ;)

I'll keep an eye out for them. I didn't have much luck with the stands/bases Neca made, the figures just don't stand on them. I bought about 20 for my Gremlins and had to switch to mini doll stands.

The figure stands are not great. At least not for their figures, I've had some decent luck with Marvel Legends/Star Wars Black Series.

But with NECA figures, if they have trouble standing it's usually due to floppy ankles and the stands don't help much with that, especially Gremlins. I've had the pegs break off in the feet in some cases. The head stands are much better.

In other news my Earl looks like it got bumped up to today delivery! So hopefully it's waiting when I get home.

Yeah the Gremlins are a bit top heavy, they really shouldn't have had ankle joints anyway. Mostly they lean forward with the massive heads and arms.

Awesome! My second one is due tomorrow I think.
