Quote from: Flaffy on October 14, 2024, 08:53:11 PMI asked EverythingDinosaur last week to see if it was possible to reserve a model of 001 Purple ver. Argentinosaurus given its scarcity.

Unfortunately I have not gotten a response back. Based on this uncertainly, I reckon I'll be sticking with my Lana preorder this time around.

EverythingDinosaur just sent me an email saying that they've now confirmed their order quanitities of the Argentinosaurus with Haolonggood. And if everything goes to plan, they should be able to supply the 001 Purple version to those who expressed interest in it. No additional information on how many copies of 001 are being sent to EverythingDinosaur however.

Now I'm questioning if I should cancel my Lana preorder...

Depends on ED's shipping prices, if you are in the UK it's a no brainer but outside the UK the higher price of £240-260 pounds vs the $199 at Lana might eat up cheaper shipping cost.

For non-British customers it will definitely be cheaper to order from Lanatime.
I for one do not order from EverythingDinosaur anymore.
Didn't the man with the helmet advise to avoid HAOLONGGOOD anyway :P ;D  ?

I have also not forgotten how Everything Dinosaur has been acting not too long ago, so I will either directly order from Lana Time Shop or from Speelboer in the Netherlands.

What did i miss?

You missed that shortly after Haolonggood released new figures last year, Everything Dinosaur posted these unfounded accusations on social media and later tried to scare people with some abhorrent stories that direct shipments from China would be at high risk of being confiscated by EU and UK customs. The unfounded accusations about the CE certification of Haolonggood products were swiftly addressed by Vampiredesign actually posting the certificates for their figures on this forum (in the Haolonggood New for 2024 thread).

To be fair a lot of forgery comes out of China, I do not know what happened with ED/Haolonggood but China is still a wild west regarding regulations etc. Some "companies" do sell a lot of low quality even poisonous products, especially mass produced plastics with components that are illegal in the EU, even in the US who in general are a lot more lax on this. This I have from Chinese friends in manufacturing and also law, it will get better in the future but importing directly from China in low/mid volume shipments is risky if you do not know what you are doing.

Haolonggood products are not a problem, I was told that 80+% of the bad stuff are from usually 1 man operations trying to make a side income through mold theft and using subpar material to sell ripoffs of anything from rubber ducks to car parts. A sizable company operation like Haolonggood cannot operate there by exporting crap, Chinese authorities of course do not allow it, but if you as a layperson buy direct online from company X there is little anyone can do to know what happened during production versus ordering say 20000 chairs.

Patiently waiting for Argent to hit the Haolonggood Amazon store. Definetly need that free shipping to justify this monster. I wonder how long it will take to appear there, seems like the Trike showed up very quickly.

I certainly prefer the HLG out of those three.

I for my part would have one wish for the future. Please consider making a few scientifically accurate Mesozoic plants and trees. You can just start with one text example and see how the market picks this up.

For some reason the videos are not working.

Does this video show every copy of the purple version that's ever going to be produced?

Ngl the more I see of 129 the more I'm considering switching to it. The copies of 001 in the video don't really grab me as much as the initial promo pics, but that may very well be due to it missing a couple of paint steps. I reckon I'll make a final decision once avatar_HaoLongGood_Elsa @HaoLongGood_Elsa kindly provides pictures of the finalised versions on display at the upcoming expo.

Strange thing is that on one table in the video we see some unpainted figures with the neck removed and the body then appears to be hollow. Judging from the weight and comparing with other figures like Alamosaurus I was under the impression that the Argentinosaurus would be fully massive as well. I think one needs to really do the exercise and measure the volume and weight of these figures and then calculate the density. This will tell whether they are fully massive or partly hollow.

Hopefully it's just the camera/work in progress cause those purple ones glimpsed does not look much like the beautiful prototype.
