Some of you have asked if there's a way you can make a monetary contribution to support this site. Here are some ways you can help put some money in the pot, directly or indirectly...

1. Submit guest reviews to the DinoToyBlog. Content is king, so the more articles that get posted, the more interesting and successful the site becomes, more people visit the site, the more ads get viewed. Even just contributing to the DinoToyForum helps in this regard - come out of hiding lurkers!

2. Turn off ad blockers for the domain dinotoyblog dot com. The main source of revenue for the upkeep of the site comes from ads. These get paid per view, not per click, and make between about 20 and 60 pence per 1000 views. I ensure there are no annoying pop-up ads or anchor ads, just ads placed in moderation within the pages. So, if you haven't already, turning off ad blockers for the domain dinotoyblog dot com is guaranteed to put some pennies in the pot.

3. Always visit Amazon via a link on dinotoyblog dot com. Any link will do - there's one on every page. All Amazon links on the dinotoyblog dot com are affiliate links, which earn about 3% commission on any products bought on Amazon with 24 hours of clicking the link (not just the linked product) . The links should redirect to your local Amazon if the same page or product is available there (I'm registered with .com, .co.uk, .ca, .de, and .it). Otherwise it will link to .com. This 'geotargeting' may not work if you're using a VPN.

4. Always visit Ebay via a link on dinotoyblog dot com. Again, any link will do - there's one on every page. All Ebay links on the dinotoyblog dot com are affiliate links, which earn about 3% commission on any products bought on Ebay with 24 hours of clicking the link (not just the linked product) . The links should redirect to your local Ebay.

5. Make purchases from Happy Hen Toys via links on dinotoyblog dot com. These are not affiliate links but HHT do support dinotoyblog dot com by providing us with review samples and having their links appear on other reviews, so the more traffic and transactions they receive from us the better.

6. Donations. I've thought about adding a PayPal donate button, but I don't feel comfortable accepting donations at this point. I know I don't have to be a charity to receive donations, but still, it doesn't sit right. So, I'm looking at the possibility of adding a subscription option, which will provide some simple perks (e.g. ad free). This would be similar to a donation but with a little something in return, so technically a transaction.

Edited to add...

6b. Become a paid subscriber. Members can become a paid subscriber and donate £10 in exchange for some perks, such as removing ads from the forum. Details here: https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=11721.0

Honestly I would rather prefer to be able to make a direct donation rather than having to do any of the items listed under 2), 3), 4) and 5) in order to support then site.

Thanks, and I think you're not alone. This motivates me to bottom out item 6.

As far as items 3 and 4 go, if someone avoids Ebay or Amazon out of principle or whatever, that's fair enough, I'm not asking anyone to break their principles.
