Looks like a pretty good rex but I'm keen to see some high res images

Joliezac

Can't wait to see what other figures come next. Look like Hell's Creek formation will be first

GojiraGuy1954

Ok. Ok THIS is my last Rex. I'm seeing mugshots of an Anzu, Trike, and Edmonto on the page too. Wonder if that'll be it for Hell Creek, or if those are just the next few models in the pipeline?

Triple D hmmm... 3D... lol
I do hope that their announcement will meet the expectations aroused by their intriguing communication.

By the way, many thanks to avatar_DinoToyForum @DinoToyForum for having kindly ignored the spoiler request  ::D  ::D  ::D

I was sworn to secrecy. I'm not involved, but Mike and Sue told me about this exciting project at the launch of my last book a couple years ago. I didn't know for sure that's what today's announcement would be about, but I'm glad it is! Wonderful to see it has come to fruition, the T. rex looks amazing!

If we can think of 4 animals per formation as a sort of basic standard... a Chinle set with Coelophysis, Desmatosuchus, Effigia / Postosuchus / Smilosuchus, and Vancleavea would be amazing

Oh that was a great news! For me the price range will be the deciding factor.
Also, it's a bit of a shame to me that every scientifically accurate theropod figures have the same pose.

What do you think the level of fine detail & paintjob quality from photos and videos? Collecta deluxe? or Papo? It's lesser than Haolonggood right now for sure.

1:33 is a bit odd choice but maybe it's another way to say models will be between 1:30-1:35 scale.

Joliezac

I personally am getting a bit tired of HLG's color schemes. I really love this one. Looks a lot more realistic. I'm fine with 1:33 scale, to me its the same as 1:30-1:35. I just hope these figures aren't out of my budget!

ceratopsian

Crunch point in choice of pose is that bipeds need to stay on their feet.

Very exciting venture! Not surprised that the first figure of the line is Tyrannosaurus rex. It's a speices that pretty much guarentees sales, a truth I'm sure retailers like EverythingDinosaur are well aware of.

Hope these Hell Creek dinos sells well enough to fund further formations later on. Definitely excited at the prospect of a Chinle Formation group of Triassic critters.

suspsy

That Tyrannosaurus rex does indeed look amazing. Right now my three pressing questions are: 1) Can it be removed from the base, and stand independently?; 2) When will it be released?; 3) What is the price tag?

Exclusive repaints of BOTM figures would be my guess.

It does remind me of a high-end CollectA figure, stylisation-wise

Very distinctive Bob Nichollas influences in the style, which is unsurprising given he's the art director. His modern theropod work is rather blocky compared to other famous paleoartists out there, quite unique.

CollectA's (Matthias Geiger's) style is more rounded and lumpy, with very obvious (and oftentimes oversized) scale details.

Hard to discern "quality" at the moment without HD pics. Hope to see a full gallery posted soon.

This is really cool, and there's a good chance I'll be buying this whole line. To support Everything Dinosaur, if nothing else, but the figure does look super charming as well.
Perhaps it's T. rex fatigue, but I'm far more interested in the teased Anzu and Edmontosaurus.

JohannesB

Beautiful. Very distinctive too; sets it apart from all other companies, while still very much in the style of Collecta, but more luxurious, by the looks of it. A pity I won't be getting any of these figures, since shipping and taxes to Norway will make them ridiculously expensive.
