Oh, there's no evidence for that tail feather. It's something that appeared in All Yesterdays that I'm using for my series, where it is used to signal other members of its species.

Yeah, I tried to get the lace monitor color as well as I could, but it didn't go too well. Hopefully the M. beaugei poteryalii turns out better.
