Any idea about this?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Styracosaurus-Plastic-Model-1-20-Scale-Sold-by-Kmart-/261444975719?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cdf55bc67

Supposedly it's a 1/20 vintage Styracosaurus. But how are we supposed to know what we're buying if there are no pictures of the actual model? It could be a chinasaur for all we know.

Oh, well. No international shipping anyway ::)

There are however pics of the package. This suggests that it is a model kit.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

You could ask what company produced it, should be right on the box, if they are evasive about it might not want to bid

Looks like the package says S. S. Kresge Company prehistoric animal series. Searching for it yields nothing though. I'm really curious what it looks like but not enough to buy it.

Found this but once again, no picture of the actual model. Whoever wrote about it seems stumped too.

I'm afraid you won't find the Sideshow Allosaurus vs. Camarasaurus Diorama for less anymore :-\.

It's so tempting but I know that the price is going to reach insane levels before the auction ends (if you don't already consider $400 to be "insane" enough already) :-[

Large Sega amargasaurus..

Can anyone explain to me why someone bids so early in an auction?

1. Seller can't pull an auction without a fee if there are bids on it, should he decide to raise the cost

2. Maybe no-one else will notice and you can sneak by with one bid

Simon

Even though ebay has been around for 16 years, there are still newbies who get excited and start bidding.  In the early days of ebay everyone did that, driving up the prices on themselves and making sellers happy.  Today the average ebayer is a lot more cagey.  Lots of sniper services will automatically bid at the last moment in the amount you want to bid.  Keeps the final price on most items lower than it would have been, say 14 years ago ...
