It truly is an amazing model, you can see why I've spent my entire (brief) adult life and most of my teens looking for it. In almost ten years of searching this is the only one I've seen come up for sale, but for something that retailed at less than $30, $110 after shipping is just outside of what I'd be willing to pay.

It might be worth it to contact the seller and try to negotiate a cheaper shipping alternative. I just did that with some dinosaur cards and cut the shipping in half. Shipping aside the price at $59.99 sounds reasonable. With the current shipping I can tell you that even moulding from a real one we couldn't have made it at the museum for $112.22 CAD back in the seventies when you add up time and materials. Plus with this government in power spending us further into debt our dollar probably won't be improving soon. If it was my holy grail I would grab it but then I always do enjoy spending other people's money. :D

I would have but Monster House has for whatever reason blocked all ability for buyers to contact them.

Frankly I'm not surprised, as most of the items they sell are incredibly overpriced and they probably don't want people submitting that for others to see (IIRC when someone submits a question to the seller other potential buyers can see it?). I'm seeing some of the Takara/Yujin crabs in their feed priced at almost $70 while other sellers have most of them available for under $10.

That's not true.
Usually MonsterHouse HK isn't a cheap way to buy items but the owner is a friendly guy.
I talked to him so many times through MHHK Facebook account.
And he is very quick to reply.

And Ebay has the "Contact the Seller" option..

That is strange I was just able to get through to the contact section here in Ottawa.

Apologies, I am truly ever the pessimist! I hadn't thought about Facebook, I will try that thank you.

I can still select contact seller and then the list of options but after selecting an option the box which then appears at the bottom to contact seller upon clicking that it brings up the page: "We're sorry we couldn't find an answer for you. Unfortunately, this seller is not able to respond to your question. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing."

Under "Seller Information" :--  "Contact Seller"  -- "Other" -- "Contact The Seller"--  then you can type a request to MHHK..

I tried and it works.

That is weird, when I do it, I select shipping from the question list  then I get "do you still want to contact the seller" I click yes and I get the question dialogue box the only warning that comes up is "the seller is registered in a different country and may not speak english" but I can send a question.

Perhaps it's something with my Ebay account, darn thing probably wants me to confirm with a mobile number before I can use the full services. Sorry for wasting your time folks, and thanks RobinGoodfellow for the link to their Facebook.

I toke the advice to heart and bought that mantis shrimp, and only a few hours later they've put up another one. Incase anyone else is still looking:

Here's a link for a boxed thunder beasts callovosaurus, for those looking to add to their iguanadontid collection. This is a very hard to find figure. Rarely comes up for sale.
I'm seeking Orsenigo and other interesting vintage dinosaurs. Contact me if you can help with my search!

What I noticed was that one of Carnegie's trio deinonychus has a broken leg. It is separated from the group.

That happened to me with my set and in this case I stuck it with industrial glue (I do not recommend it for a person who is not careful since it is dangerous to contact the skin if it is not used properly) it fit me and then I bought a merchant from my city that same figure again.

A link for a very uncommon Dinah Dinosaurland figurine. For those looking for vintage dinosaur park souvenirs, this one is fairly priced and a really cool little figure!

A Battat triceratops is now on sale on EBay under the heading - 1994 Battat Boston Museum of Science Triceratops

PhilSauria

Not coming up under any of the searches I tried (Not visible from Australia for some reason?, unlikely). Probaly cost an arm and a leg anyhow. Had me going for a moment there!, despite the conviction in the back of my mind that unfortunately one of these will never grace my collection.

Here's your Battat triceratops :

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1994-Battat-Boston-Museum-of-Science-original-Triceratops-RARE/123009192231?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

But, he will only ship to USA ,Canada -so, you'll have to ask for a favour from  a friend or use a shopping/shipping service.

PhilSauria

Thanks Bronto, much appreciated but if that's the starting bid and knowing how desirable this one is I can see this one going pretty high by the finish, regardless of where they will or will not send to and how much it would cost to do so. If only I had a time machine to go back to when they were new..

If there is anyone who's ever wanted to get their hands on a Horizon JP Rex, I'm pretty sure this is one that needs a repaint for $40.
