Eww. ... I wonder if it's an issue with the method of storage (e.g. temperature, moisture), or if that particular batch has "faulty" plastic
I have on my shelves many battats from various sources, and I can definately  say the folowing :

1. Only those I got from him started 'sweating' after few months, no other Battat from other source showed the same symptoms.
2. All those I got from him have the same problem, not even one of his was spared from this problem.

So, do the math yourself ...

Joey

Huh. That sure is a shame, I'll have to see if my Ourano that I purchased from him does the same after a while. Thanks for the heads up though Bronto  :)

Oh, what I mean was if the seller's storage method had issues that degraded the plastic over time.

I suspect that usually it's exposure to sun, but I think it's possible that long-term storage in other plastics (Zip-locs, bubble wrap) can cause the same problem.

I think this is a big part of it. None of my Battats have this issue. The only time I've encountered issues of figures being "sweaty" or sticky is when I opened a few old Star Wars figures that had been in storage in a bin in my basement for over a decade. No exposure to sunlight or anything, but kept in the packaging, which is clear plastic. Must be some kind of chemical reaction between the two different kinds of plastic.

Honestly in my case I have been fortunate I have had no problems with my Battat, except for the last edition tyrannosaurus (the most modern), the utahraptor and the gallimimu, but fortunately and as if it were a miracle in the case of the three figures, after time they can stand upright without any problem. It may be that the plastic dries over time and straightens or it may also be due to the weather situation in my house.

Ikessauro

The only Battat I noticed has gotten sticky in my collection is the original Stegosaurus. And when I say sticky, I mean it. It is really tacky and I'm not sure why. Perhaps the weather here is warmer? I don't think it would be the reason, since it has been in the same shelf as all the others and none of them is sticky.

In my case, none of my Battat have become sticky or have stability problems, fortunately, and most of the Battat dinosaurs I have are second-hand.

Seems a real Battat Stegosaurus has snuck in among some bootlegs.

Too rich for my blood, but a lot of Schleich, with a few older Wild Safari, CollectA, WWD3D, and a few discontinued Papo's.

Looks like it's probably version 3 as listed here: https://carnegiecollection.blogspot.com/2019/06/the-carnegie-collection-brachiosaurus_18.html

Just a little beat up. These ~1989 models were made of hard black plastic which can give them that almost dark washed appearance when it's scuffed off. It does have a little yellow paint on the head which is slightly different than the pic on the site (parallel to the yellow headed catalog version of Apatosaurus). I never noticed the pupil-free eye before, but a few catalog versions have that feature, most notably the Allosaurus. They were very high-contrast and retro looking to blend into the early photo shoot sets.

(Kicking myself for not checking my notifications sooner, 1st Gen Brach is the only one I still need! I'll take a beat up one over nothing 😄)

The same seller has some older Schleich figures that I haven't seen before.

Hah hah, I remember having that "Spinosaurus" as a kid. Even back then I thought it was weird.

The Edmontosaurus is scarce enough. There's a review on the DTB, if course, but I've only ever seen one. I was able to snap it up from a thrift shop bin, about a decade ago, here in Toronto, Canada. Nothing since then.

US $43.00?! Well, that's ridiculous. You better get a new one here for €6.95.

Some obviously still pretend there are no new Bullyland Deinotherium on the market. I always find this pretty barefaced. Okay, the ebay one seems to be one of the "retired" versions, but in this case, I wouldn´t care.  Thanks for the hint!
