Puzzle with a thosand pieces

Eurographics makes lots of different posters, which can become puzzles.  We have a different one in our gift shop, plus some funky posters with different dino skulls and marine reptile skeletons (a sister poster to this year's Marine Reptiles poster--which is distributed by Safari, but also produced by Eurographics).

Pictures:

I know that the marine life poster is also made as a puzzle now, don't know about the fossils one.

I would expect that you would have both of these, Adam. If not I can help you out there...

Oooh cool amphibians! is the first time that I see this figure  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

A Jurassic Park Dilophosaurus mask. For Halloween of course. You can spit at the trick or treaters. Or, just generally hang around the house with in on.

You can spit at the trick or treaters....
When you said that, I actually thought the thing had a mechanism for the purpose.

Haha! Nah, I just meant spit, the old fashioned way. Am I the only one who deals with unwanted visitors this way? *joke*!  *yuck*

Fun thought--most trick-or-treaters will be too young to understand why the dinosaur is spitting--or even what the frilled dino is supposed to be (20 years, folks).

Anyone know anything about these kits:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/angel.414/m.html?item=150930940039&pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item23242f6087&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

The dino kits, that is.  These look tantalizingly familiar, esp the Parasaurolophus standing in a puddle.  Thought I'd get a quicker and more detailed response here than asking the seller directly.
???

Himmapaan

I know that Iguanodon, but the sculptor's name entirely escapes me at the moment.  :-\ These look suspiciously as though they may be recasts.

postsaurischian

It does indeed look as if the seller's selling recasts. Too bad ....... because I like the Parasaurolophus & Triceratops :-[. Not the colours, but the models.

amargasaurus cazaui

is it possibly the one by Mannit? (iguanodon)

Simon

They are Matt Manit's kits.  Or recasts.  The detailing is a bit fuzzy so I vote recasts.  The seller PM'd to an inquiry from another forum that he bought Manit's moulds and that he lived near where Manit did.  But Manit lives in Sacramento, CA, to the best of my knowledge, while this fellow says he is from Milwaukee.

Anyhow, til Matt turns up to clear up the confusion, the guy will be able to keep selling them.  I hope that they are from Matt's original moulds, because I'd love to get the Iguanodon, but until I know for sure I am not gonna risk supporting a potential recaster!

Simon

Apparently they are legit, but the moulds may have worn out a bit and fuzzed up the detail.  For a discussion of this seller and his items, see this thread - Captain Jack explains it all about 2/3 of the way down the page.

Okay, thanks!  I couldn't see that page w/o registering, which I didn't feel like doing, but I got the info I needed.  Matt makes some nice models.
