Mammals, lots of them!

I like how the seller looks like he is trying to hide that pink mammoth back there.

Those are WAiphoons, I have them both. If the paint job was a little better I guess 4$ would be acceptable, but the colors are just too much. Mine are not painted like this...

Not those Waiphoons. Maybe if it was the Liopleurodon, the Camarasaurus or the Styracosaurus.

How much is the camarasaurus worth?

I've never personally considered most Waiphoons worth more than $4 as it is (excepting the two Liopleurodon, the Rhamphorhynchus, the Stygimoloch...those ones can reasonably ask much higher). The lot posted on ebay, like most cheaposaurs, would originally be $1 in stores, ones that are somehow good or very different (like the Camarasaurus, scratching raptor, or Styracosaurus) might be worth a bit more to collectors.

The description says they used to be painted. The manufacturer must have decided it was more cost effective to paint a piece of clear plastic, rather than mold it in a "base" color like the Carnegie line eventually did. And of course, this would mean that anyone could strip the paint from their painted Invicta, and sell it for a hefty price, right?

I talked to the seller, and my understanding is that he got these items in that condition and he assumes they used to be painted (because the painted invictas are clear plastic underneath). My own theory is that they actually came from the factory in this unpainted condition. Another member here has been trying to strip paint from painted invictas not having much luck with it. I own a clear plastic invicta meg, and it was suggested that the paint might have peeled off from being played with in a hot bathtub. This is definitely not the case. I have been subjecting one of my painted plesiosaurs to hot water and all sorts of chemicals in addition to just trying to scrape the paint off by hand, and it's had almost no effect.

Interesting. I don't remember if Beeson mentioned any of this in his PT articles, but maybe I should look over it again.
