Hm, the history stops when the really good models were starting to be produced (1993). This disc is for the retro fans.

So I guess it doesn't have much coverage of resin kits? I'll skip it I think :P

Yes, I'll be probably more interested in an upcoming part 2.

you got a point. and i only have a handful of classic/golden age figures anyway. i hope a second volume would be published someday (1993-present).

The linked sale does state the reference material does contain some modern sets as well.....i.e.   Battat, Bullyland etc, in the print further down.
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

There are a number of modern sets, the book also shows how figures have developed through time.

If sales of book 1 are low and disappointing, this will not encourage joe to set aside a chunk of his life for book 2

Something for the (near) millionaires >:D

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-HUGE-8-FOOT-Tyrannosaurus-rex-by-TONY-MCVEY-resin-dinosaur-model-kit-/190945825428?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item2c75421294

"This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing." I wonder what happened?

Edit, ahah, just found it relisted here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-HUGE-8-FOOT-Tyrannosaurus-rex-by-TONY-MCVEY-resin-dinosaur-model-kit-/190953364983?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item2c75b51df7

Also, at the current bid of $305, you don't have to be millionaire any more!

Even if I had the money (which I don't :P), there's no use bidding. Seller doesn't ship outside the States. Given that overseas shipping would be astronomical, I can't really blame them.

[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Wow.  If I was hiking in that gloom - and I suddenly saw that figure in the distance - I'd s**t my pants!!!   ;) ;) ;)

A familiar-looking Parasaurolophus, in one of the most bizarre paintings I've ever seen.

Kind of makes me curious if there are worse things out there.

This is so bad, I can hardly imagine anything worse :-\.
