The only one I'd be interested in is the customized Foulkes Rex- but alas, it doesn't fit into my current budget.

Ironically I was interested in it a bit back.  He outbid me and won it when another seller had it up .  The price went so high I just ordered the Rex from Shane and sent it to have Martin create the same piece out of it. heh

:) Well done, Blade.

Why do I have the feeling that "bucketfoot-al" is still around here on the forum?

He may come by and have a look around..but with these sales I think he's giving up on dinos it seems.

As a lurker, possibly. But as a registered user, no.
He was banned due to an argument on the old forum. According to Sbell:

QuoteI think you don't remember things well. Bucketfoot was banned for threating remarks he made to Tomhet who left the forum at that time. Originally Bucketfoot left of his own free will before coming back to attack Kevin. He was then banned.

Quote....Bucket had been banned (or had left voluntarily, I don't remember exactly which) previously for some...different kind of comments. Then returned under a different account (and was subsequently re-banned).

I don't know the whole situation, but if he was banned on the old forum, he'd be banned on this one too (since Dr. Admin keeps a list of all IP addresses to stop banned members from rejoining). Sorry for dredging those old posts up, btw :-\

Not sure about that...he still posts regularly on the Clubhouse forum.

Hmmmm.... those hands seem wrong ...

I like it myself. The issue of ceratopsian hand position seems be one that is far from a correct answer at any rate.  Shane also gave him guidance on this one and I trust him to create an accurate a  piece as possible.

The hands on this model are placed in the neutral, with fingers aimed away from the body and directed outwards, exactly as current scientific thinking has established. The best way to visualize this is if the dinosaur were to rise up on its legs and attempt to clap its hands, the two palms would then line up when brought together. The arms themselves angle outwards with the hands then facing away from the body. There is a paper out there somewhere if I can find it , that describes a triceratops found with articulated hands that were preserved exactly as displayed in this model.
This is the current established and generally accepted postion for ceratopsian hands given both footprint and fossil evidence. The model is brilliant !
Senter published a paper around 2007 demonsrating t forelimb function on basal ceratopsians followed by the paper released about the articulated hands found in a triceratops specimen that demonstrated this aspect of hand posture. I cannot locate the second paper this instant but I am sure Wings might be able to link the papers to explain better, as he originally led me to the second one himself.
Here is a link to the"Journal of Paleontology" which article quite well explains why this hand posture is correct in ceratopsians.
The second link is an article from the "Journal of Zoology " that demonstrates this posture likely existed in basal as well as more derived ceratopsians.

Why?

...I believe that the hands should be turned inward a little bit, and fingers 4 and 5 shouldn't be touching the ground ...

...from the sculpting standpoint, the skin detail looks a little soft and I wonder how well it will hold up to a coat of primer and then a coat of paint...

Shane's sculpts are much better than this one (1/15 and 1/30 scale) and more pleasing to the eye as well.

So so.....I have had two of them before....although they don't show up often by themselves....the habitat earth dinos often show up in mixed lots......still not a bad figure....

I think their fairly rare, but they are not generally coveted by collectors.  You could probably get them cheapest in childrens dinosaur lots on E-Bay.

£35 for a 'Buy it now' mint boxed WWD Liopleurodon is a good deal. For some reason the same seller has another WWD Lio up for auction at a much higher price. I wonder if it is a mistake.

I can't access the auction, as it seems to have been pulled. So yeah, it's probably a mistake. Too bad.

I made a mistake in the link - it should work now?
