I've actually seen a complaint about this piece looking  '" too much like a pet lizard " ..lol They are still supposed to be related to monitor lizards/varanids right ?
That's a good thing. In my opinion, it should be lizard like. Maybe they had an idea in their mind of something more monstrous looking. The closed mouth kinda gives it a gentle look (not that that's a bad thing :).)

Btw, does anyone know the eta on this model?

My thoughts exactly..it looks all the more realistic to me.  They probably wanted a mouth gaping attack-mode creature.

Not yet..might know something next week.  The newsletter said " soon " for the pre-order to go up..but the last reveal said " soon " as well and that was months ago.

That's indeed a good thing!
The more people do not like the Mosasaur the higher my chances of getting one ;D.

They're should be plenty of them. It won't be like the euplocephalus.

Agreed...I have both the Stegosaurus, and the Carnotaurus....both are worth way more than the hefty price that I paid for them IMO.....great size, and extreme detail, also quite accurate!

Blade-of-the-Moon

They aren't so expensive when compared to models and professional painting...but even there ..to quote TQ..you get what you pay for.

Sideshow does payment plans for these pieces and many retailers will do the same.

Blade-of-the-Moon

New pic showing almost the entire piece :

We also have paint variants for the Spinosaurus and Styracosaurus :

Blade-of-the-Moon

I just learned these color varients will be for sale..I bleive by Sideshow .

Yutyrannus

Really wish I could afford that mosasaur. He is so awesome!

Pretty :) I would definitely also consider getting the Spino and Styraco, since I never had the chance first time around. What scale are they supposed to be?

Blade-of-the-Moon

If the Styrac and Spino look as good as those I might have to buy them too..then I'll sell the older ones I have.

tyrantqueen

The spinosaurus looks like something that Steve Riojas would have painted :)

The scale varies..I would guess..1:20 for the Spino and 1:15 for the Styrac ?

Hit the nail on the head..it was painted by Steve. I believe he painted all the other pieces as well...for the prototypes/paint masters.

Then they are copied by artists in China.
