Is this actually an authentic painted Invicta Pteranodon, or just a case of the seller trying to bump up the price?

It looks authentic, but I'm not sure :-\. See stoneage's pic: http://www.dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php/topic,379.msg8308.html#msg8308
Maybe he has a better one.

If it's made of softer rubber material - not the harder plastic used for the unpainted ones - it should be an original.

UK

It is the softer plastic painted version. I thought it may be due to Sun exposure but the underside seems closer to the top rather than the normal for this piece but however it reached this colour, it is still unusual and in good condition too

Crackington

I know the Pteranodon has now been sold, but I would trust it to have been authentic.

The seller, Kessie used to come on the old forum and I've traded with him before. He's a good guy.

He's got a good nose for digging out the older vintage models (Timpos, Inpros etc) and works hard to track them down, so I think his prices on e-bay are reasonable when you consider the effort he puts in.

I think I've seen that colour variant before too on-line somewhere, so I'm pretty sure it was genuine.

Kessie is on the new forum as well.
My living room smells like old plastic dinosaur toys... Better than air freshener!

Thank you for your kind words Crackington, you were correct that this was a genuine piece and that I spend many hours finding the items. It is as much to help those collectors not able to scan Ebay Uk / Germany, as well as raising a little profit to buy the odd item for my own collection.

And I can confirm, you too are a good guy. I dropped Kessie (she was my favourite dog) as I wanted a fresh handle for the new forum.

What is this bizarre thing?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Large-dinosaur-toy-dragons-and-others-/261232716002?pt=UK_ToysGames_ActionFigures_ActionFigures_JN&hash=item3cd2aee8e2

Reminds me a little of the WWD Allosaurus toy, but with an Iguanodon's hands and head.

I think it's from the Thunder Beasts toy line.

Sky Kids/Thunder Beasts Callovosaurus to be exact. :) It also has the honour to be a Unique Species.

CityRaptor

I used to have that one. My parents were less then thrilled about its colors...
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I think the colour is quite cool, it's different for a dinosaur but it's a nice change.

FUTABA

I really really like blue things.

Ikessauro

I'm not sure if this really worth as much as the seller is asking just for the poster... but anyway.

Never seen that one before :o

This Tsintaosaurus was a give-away at the museum of natural history in Basel / Switzerland for children who asked interesting questions :).
Unfortunately it was discontinued last year (shortly after I nailed one down for me ;D).
Every Invicta collector should have one - it's the series' "secret figure"!

Invicta Hunter

I've got one of these and it really does look great along side the Invicta set.
