More ceratopsians and more hadrosaurs! And a Troodon.

If someone were to make new prehistoric mammals I'd want to see an American Mastodon and a Steppe Bison. There are enough Woolly Mammoths and Saber Tooth cats out there.

Agreed, and I'd like to add a Giant Short-Faced Bear to that. An "Evolution of the Horse" series would be a good idea too, and maybe the people who do CollectA's model horse line might be willing to do some work on it.

I also respectfully disagree with the "More ceratopsians!" comments. The market is full of Late Cretaceous dinosaurs as it is, and underrepresented creatures from different timeframes deserve some time in the spotlight too.

Alvarezsaurids have got to be the most unrepresented dinosaurs ever. I wonder why no company has ever tried to make any.

I agree with TQ to make some alvarezsauridaes
They would make some good models and would be nice in a diorama!
I hope that palo or carniege should make some. I also think that they have made too many ceratopsians!

sauroid

maybe they think that small dinos with hardly any arms would appeal to the general market

Ornithomimids are another underrepresented Cretaceous clade. I can't think of a single replica that's come out since the group got a winged revamp in 2012.

Baby acro or albertasaurus and baby

I have changed my view and now believe there should be:
CollectA- Troodon male and female with baby
Carniege-Acro
Papo-Acro
Schleich-  Yep...none or maybe Godzilla?!?
Sideshow- T-rex dual or parasaurolophus or acro mating dance.

Maybe Christmas time? Or whenever we hear the news of the first 2015 figure.

Gwangi

I like Safari's current trend of a new ceratopsian every year but I still need to catch up! There are so many great ceratopsian models I don't have yet and for that reason, the companies can slow down on 'em. :) In fact, Safari has been doing a pretty good job at giving us a diverse range of species, keep up the good work.

Ornithomimids and alvarezsaurids are something we need more of. Smaller less flashy dinosaurs like the various small ceratopsians and ornithopods would be welcome too but I can understand why they're rare. We also need more pterosaurs in a standing position. The flying ones are kind of a pain to display.

I would welcome a new Acro from Papo or Carnegie. The old Carnegie does not look much like an Acro but I fear if they made a new one it would be another disappointment like their last two theropods. I think Papo could do a respectable one.  From Papo I'm mostly interested in theropods in general. Give me Torvosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Suchomimus or Megalosaurus.

A few others I would like to see; more feathered dinosaurs (of any variety). Carnegie or Papo also need to produce an Apatosaurus, preferably in 1:40 scale. I would like to see more Permian and Triassic fauna but that is probably a pipe dream.

amargasaurus cazaui

I ask for the same things each year, but I still feel the vast majority of basal and less derived dinosaurs remains poorly represented. Compsognathus, Staurikosaurus,  lesothosaurus, PEGOMASTAX, koreaceratops, yinlong, Sciopnyx, the list of characters is long and quite varied. Any of these in  toy forms would be unique.
Gwangi hit a note with me on the Pterosaur comment and I realized I seldom collect them, and as he stated , it is because they do not display well flying. I grab the ones that are standing every time however, and really like how they look in the shelf. So I agree, more of that would be welcome......and honestly I would prefer it over the grind of new ceratopsians, each one only differing in color and one or two horns or a frill edging.
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

Patrx

Don't get me wrong, I'm a ceratopsian fan and no mistake; but some good points have been raised here. There are lots of taxonomic gaps. I'd like to see a winged ornithimimid, an Eoraptor, a Compsognathus, Coelophysis, a heterodontosaur or two, Shunosaurus (sauropod with a tail club, how cool is that?), and some dromaeosaurs, for heaven's sake. I've said it before, but, for such a popular group, there are practically zero replicas that hold up to modern thinking, particularly regarding feathers. On the pterosaur subject, isn't it odd that there aren't really any Pterodactylus replicas out there? That might be nice to see.

I don't really have a lot of opinions regarding which company makes what, but based on this year's releases from Papo, I think they should just go back to copying movie monsters. Maybe they could take a crack at a Gwangi knockoff?

Also, six-hundredth post! Hooray for me.

sauroid

i'd like to see non-dinosaurs like Moschops and Estemmenosuchus from wild safari. it would be cool if Papo would make an Apatosaurus or Diplodocus in 1:40 scale. and i hope Papo would stop using brown tone paint scheme on their figures already (the Archaeopteryx is an exception).

Yes,I think they would come out nicely from that line. :)
