Question about "The Complete Dinosaur"

I own the second edition of this book. I was doing some googling and reading reviews, and I read that a lot of the material from the first edition was removed or edited, and replaced with other stuff. Is this true? Is there anyone who owns both editions of the book and could elaborate on this? Should I have gone for the first edition? Considering that it's now out of print, I suppose it's a pointless question but I'm curious anyway. I also realise that the second edition has been updated to be more accurate, but in my mind that doesn't necessarily mean it's a better book.
Thanks :)

I shall answer my own question. I got a copy of the original edition and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a bit smaller than the second:

It feels as though the first was written towards more of a layman audience. The second is a lot more technical. Even the art is different. I'm not sure which one I prefer, but I do appreciate that the first is easier for me to comprehend.

You might think I wasted my money by buying two editions of the same book, but honestly, they feel like separate books. I'm sort of a collector of dinosaur books anyway, so I'm happy to have both :)
