Yeah its old, the dinosaurs are innacurate but you would wish more modern day documentaries and even Walking with Dinosaurs movie would like this short.
More clips form the great documentary Dinosaurs! narrated by Superman, I mean Christopher Reeves

One of my favorite dino documentaries from when I was growing up. You can find the entire thing on Youtube and I still watch it on occasion. "Prehistoric Beast" is fantastic, one of the best examples of dinosaurs put to film.

Blade-of-the-Moon

We've shared it before on here..it's an amazing piece of work.

I wish it was released on a dvd or bluray...along with all the other footage from the Reeve special.  Would be cool if Tippett would go back and film some new stuff too. :)

Me too guys! Phil said a long time that he want to restore the scenes from Dinosaur! with the same quality as Prehistoric Beast. I hope this will come true! I love his Dromeosaurs

Blade-of-the-Moon

They had awesome character..just watching them play out with little to no narration is awesome..I'm sure this where most of us got the feel  for that preference from ..and from Ricardo's Age of Reptiles as well no doubt. ;)

Curiosly guys, Disney Dinosaur movie idea was this in the 80s. A silent go motion movie, but Disney didnt like the idea. They tried again in the golden age of Disney but you know what happened. The original movie was directed by Paul Verhoeven and Phil Tippett. Tipett with the idea, used to make Prehistoric Beast and with that he won the respect fro Dinosaurs! and Jurassic Park.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I think Jim Henson was also originally planned to do the film..Stout did concept art for it.  One piece showed Parasaurolophus as the main characters, one shoving a Carnotaurus over a cliff .

Do you have the art that Stout did it? I found this one his website.

I think you are refferin to Dinosaur Project, not Disney Dinosaur.
I read here:http://www.williamstout.com/news/journal/?p=3549

Blade-of-the-Moon

It's the same film. Jim Henson was working with Disney and somehow they got ahold of it. Seems they kept some aspects and totally changed others.
