If there is a beyond Dans Loruso will be sad with what they are doing with their magnificent legacy. It is a pity that he is no longer with us.  :(

With him the history of the Battat dinosaurs would have been different.  :-\

stegosauria

At least ED now has a stock of Amargasaurus. I know I'm really lucky I could get one of the last Cryolophosaurus from them.

Jose S.M.

I'm worried that they will start to retire the herbivores. They can't made bad articulation and put lights in them, which is what they look to sell now.

stegosauria

I'm just worried that they will retire all of Dan's dinosaurs. It's already sad that they retired the Nanshiungosaurus and the Cryolophosaurus and they even wasn't part of the original series so their numbers much lower.

Just out of curiosity what would happen if a paleoartist would decide and try to make similar figures just so more people can get this beautiful figures? (No, I don't have such intentions, I don't have enough artist in my veins) The Battat will bring a charge against him?

You'd find the bootleg thread and its discussion interesting in this regard. Check it out. It doesn't deal with Battat directly, but would be relevant in principle.

Another thought in passing - since the type of "creator" who copies other's work tends to be a bootlegger, you'd have to think that their motivation in making such figures would scarcely be altruistic. They'd be in it for the fast and easy bucks, piggybacking on the creativity and hard work of someone else.

That said, what I'm suggesting is that they sure wouldn't do it out of any sympathy for us collectors, if they were to make such an effort in the first place. Ah, the world that we live in  - nothing new under the sun, at least in as far as human nature is concerned.

Sorry to sound a bit cynical.

Just asked again, got this response:
"Thank you for your email.  We always appreciate when our customers take the time to write us and give us their feedback and use this information to help us improve our products and service.

The Terra line is an ongoing brand that we do not unfortunately have any updates on for the moment. The passing of Dan LoRusso was sad news to us all, and we hope to be able to bring his final molds to the line in the future.

Thank you again for your comments.

Terrauniverse.com"

seems like the line is dead, it's the same copy paste robot text we've been given for so long.

I sincerely take for granted the figures of Battat made by Dans LoRusso. I understand that it is absolutely useless to insist, sincerely I am convinced that they will not remake their figures.

Daspletotyrannus

This is sad news. I've always wondered why they never released the Gastonia and Gigantoraptor back in 2014. I wonder if Everything Dinosaur can ask for us or something.  They might get more of an answer then we will. It is just going to be one of those life mysteries.

Rogue1stClass

I just saw the Ceratosaurus at Target, ironically while looking for JW figures. The roar they gave it made me laugh out loud. The accessories with the tyrannosaur are cheap and crappy. They are taking some of the best sculpts in the business and doing toys that Chap Mai would find embarrassing. That said, as much as I hate myself for it, if I see that Utahraptor or Dilo, I'm getting them....

Still nothing from Battat?

Tbh I kinda wouldn't mind if they just stopped making dinosaurs for a while, I'd rather not see LoRusso's beautiful models disgraced any further...

I don't think they'll ever re-release the old stuff unfortunately

Federreptil

If I see this direction of Battat, I'm glad not waiting for the re-edition of the Ouranosaurus or Maiasaura or the fantastic Diplodocus and took the old ones when they appeared so seldom at Ebay. Maybe Battat will take another attempt in the future. But if they will not develop a sense for a historic approach or a more expensive collectors line, it could be a wishful thinking with a long time frame. The sculpts are still fantastic but the thinking of be outdated can emerge at Battat. Because even the actual undertaking should not be the expected success. So my hope is still sinking to see the new prototypes of Dan's Gigantoraptor or Pentaceratops in the mass production.

It isn't easy to realise, I'm no relevant target group for the induatry.

FlawedCoil82

I was at my local Meijer store tonight and they have cut way back on Schleich figures they carry and instead seem to be carrying Terra figures. Previously, they only carried the wildlife figures but now they are stocking the dinosaurs as well! I don't know if that means anything (and they were not new figures) but at least I can say that the Terra figures are not "Target exclusive" anymore! I took a picture but it is too much of a hassle trying to get a picture on here since I don't have any account to upload it on. >:(

Gothmog the Baryonyx

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I was wondering if anyone could do 360 degrees views of the Nanshiungosaurus? I have bought a second hand one off eBay (as that's all there was) and it has scuff marks, I was hoping to touch up the paint, but it'd be nice to have a good look at what the whole thing looks like.

Thanks to everythingdinosaur I have the rare nanshiungosaurus therizinosaur and Battat cryolophosaurus, in my case I was fortunate to have achieved them in time, but they could resume production at least of their last figures so that all DTF members interested in the Battat dinosaurs They could have them on their shelves.

Thanks for the links, I think that just about covers it. Unless there are some other markings on the underside?

Nope, nothing special. Uniform tan except the dark collar that you can already see in head-on photos.
