Hi all,

I recently visited Legoland, Windsor UK for my youngest's birthday and took a few snaps. There didn't seem to be anywhere to put these, so thought we could have a thread to show our photos of theme park like places, but kept apart from the more serious museum visit thread.

This JP like dinosaur ride was aimed at the smaller kids, so I had to convince my girls to go on it, but  as there wasn't much of a queue they were up for it. Interestingly, there was no T-Rex! Enjoy!

Parasaurolophous

Brontosaurus with reincarnation of Fred Flintstone?

Ptreanodon Sternbergi to keep the young palaeontologists happy!

Strange looking Steg with what appears to be Lego Morris men dancing around it!

Er, giant man-eating plant, creeping up on a strange victim who looks like a cross between a viking and a teletubbie!

Blade-of-the-Moon

lol the Para and Pteranodon are pretty cool..wonder why the one has a tooth brush with the Stego ? A carnivore I'd understand..lol

Maybe they thought his plates need a good flossing?

Its quite a nice ride for the little ones, but they must have used a lot of bricks!

Blade-of-the-Moon

This might be  a dumb question..but did they use actual legos to build each piece or just sculpt them to look like legos ?  Maybe even make an underframe and cover the outside only with Legos ?

I've not been to this particular park, but I've been told they use actual bricks held together with cement, and sometimes frames for very difficult ones

Yes  They are real legos.

The guy in the Cowboy hat is a named Johnny Thunder. He used to be a Indiana Jones like character who got his own series of lego sets, and one of them was a Dinosaur Expedition.

Johnny Thunder eh? I guess he was a bit of a heart-breaker!

The ride did whizz along quite fast, so it was a bit tricky to get snaps on my mobile phone and most were quite blurry, or the back of people's heads etc. The nuances of the Lego characters were thus impossible to pick up Takama, if they showed them at all. I guess the kids with the sets would know who they are.

Yes, Blade and Stargate-Dalek, its all lego bricks! They must have used a billion throughout the whole park!

Thanks for sharing! 😊
My daughter and I visited a similar park last year and posted it here somewhere. It was fun! 😊

Thanks Docronnie,

Yes I remember, they were great snaps. I think your park was a bit better though as didn't it have lots of dinosaurs (or was even a full-on dino park)? At Lego-land the dinosaur ride is just one among many, although good fun as you can see.

We should probably have a separate topic for each theme park (and museum) - it will be neater that way - I prefer smaller specific threads over broad sprawling ones. I therefore dub this thread the 'Dinosaurs at Legoland, Windsor, UK' topic!  :)

Cool lego dinosaurs, by the way. Someone presumably makes lego sculptures for a job. What a job! 8)

Fine by me Dr Adam and good idea putting all these visit threads in their own bit.

True about it being a great job for the person(s) building the models, but they'd need a bit of patience, those dinos were big!
